"The Local" is located right in downtown Minneapolis on 10th street and Nicollett Ave. For those familiar with downtown, it is not hard to find. Just be prepared to park a ways away, especially if you want free or cheap parking. I was recently here with my husband and friends. I tried some kind of chicken soup with vegetables and a tomato base. It was delicious! My soup also came with great tasting bread! The sandwiches are also fairly affordable for downtown dining. I heard that there is live music sometimes but there was not any when I was there on a Saturday night.

"Urban Envy" is located in Dinkytown, just take 35W North to the University exit and "Urban Envy" is located right on 4th avenue! They had a wide variety of women's clothing, including winter coats. They were really cute but not my size--they were mostly larges. They also had some shoes. I got a pair for $6, khaki heels. Great bargain! The clothes appeared to be is pretty good condition as well. There is also a location is Coon Rapids.

I love the ice cream at "Licks Unlimited"! Although even the store owners and employees will admit that it is not low fat or low calorie, it is extremely tasty. I recently tried the espresso coffee ice cream and the "Heaps of Love". The "Heaps of Love" variety is filled with cookie dough, caramel swirls, chocolate chunks and much more! I think that it also had nuts. It is a bit of a drive for most Twin Cities residents but it is worth it! Excelsior is a beautiful lake town with a lot to see!

This has recently become my favorite place to shop. I really need professional clothing and do not like to buy it at the high prices that many stores charge. I discovered this store and it brighten my life. They sell designer for 70% off the original retail price. What great savings! They have a great selection but do carry more women's clothing--we do need more clothes. They also have shoes and some accessories. It is on Excelsior Blvd. in St. Louis Park, just east of Highway 100.

This store is great! I know that there are so many places where you can get stuff printed that range from little pharmacies to professional stores. My vote goes to "The Print Shop." I hold fast to the attitude of, "If I do not know how to do it, ask a professional." They are professionals at "The Print Shop." They have several locations but I either go to the one on Bush Lake Road or the one on Excelsior Blvd. in St. Louis Park. It is right off of Highway 100.

This restaurant is so unique and fun. This is the only true Dutch restaurant in the Twin Cities. They are known for their "pannekoeken" which are kind of a mix between a crepe and a pancake. You can get it plain or you can fill it with different kinds of fruits, vegetables, cheeses and meats. My favorites are the triple Berry pannekoeken, with blueberries, raspberries and blackberries and the Rotterdam, with meat, veggies, cheese. It is covered with 2 tomato slices and hollandaise sauce. This restaurant is really too good to miss! It is located off of 100 on Excelsior Blvd. in St. Louis Park.

I have attended the evening service at this church a few times with friends and have enjoyed it. They really have some good programs designed especially for college age and just above. Their Sunday night worship is called the "Upper Room" and has different speakers each week with some really neat activities. Another plus is that they always have food available afterwards. This is the type of service that is good for people who are already Christians and also people who are desiring to learn more about it.

I have visited Faith Christian Reformed Church a few times. I enjoyed the sermons and appreciated the band, which included guitars, drums and other musical instruments. They also had a praise team of people who led the entire congregation in songs of worship. They seemed to have a lot of good programs for children. However, they do not have an evening service. They are located just north of 694 in New Brighton on Silver Lake Road.

I have been attending this church since my husband and I moved to the Twin Cities in May 2005. We were warmly welcomed by the church and invited to become involved quickly. The people within the congregation are some of the most friendly people that I have ever encountered. In addition, the preaching/ teaching is very good. It is stimulating and keeps you interested while still staying Biblically-sound and encouraging the congregation to seek God. I would encourage you to visit. It is located just south of 50th and france in Edina, Minnesota.

The St. Louis park library is conveniently located on Library Lane--what a fitting name. Library Lane is right off of Louisians Blvd. and just south of Minnetonka Blvd. The thing that I appreciate the most about this library is that it has several computeres available for public use. This came in really handy when I was job searching and did not have a computer at home. I spent many long days here looking for jobs--I did find one though, partially thanks to this awesome library!
