I had to have my timing belt changed on my 1997 Toyota Corolla and was shocked at the price my local dealer wanted to charge. The guys at Lincoln Peterson Auto Center quoted me a price that was half of the dealership price and the repair work on my car was done in 48 hours. I try to do as much work on my car as I can, but if anything goes wrong in the future these guys will get my business.

All I really ask for in a dry cleaner is that they get my clothes clean. I have had dry cleaners in the past that have lost items of clothing and told me I never turned it in even though it was clearly marked on the ticket. Barry Regent Cleaners are a cut above the rest, I wouldn't hesitate to recommened them to anyone. Decent pricing and great service should be the norm, it is at this establishment.

That's the only compliment I can give them. The offense just plain stinks. Kyle Orton deserves the chance to prove he is a NFL caliber quarterback, but he's going to go through some growing pains this season. Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson are capable backs who will need to have a fantastic season if the Bears have any hope of seeing the playoffs.

Maybe the pathetic Golden Warriors have poor management, but Wirtz takes the cake. Please sell the club. Anything would be better than you. I go to a few games a year as does everyone I know. Its pathetic that I have to go to the game if I want to see them play at home as every game is blacked out if its not a sell out.

I'm not a fan of the White Sox, nor of their cookie cutter stadium in a shady neighborhood, but after eighty plus years of losing they deserve a chance. If you're a Sox fan, go out and cheer for your team. Shame on you for not going to the games. They may be tanking, but now is the time they really need you.

Chicago was spoiled during the Michael Jordan years with six titles in eight years. The dismal seasons that followed were hard to stomach, but it looks like things have finally turned around. The were easily bounced out of the first round of the playoffs, but after the pathetic seasons we've seen recently that was a great turnaround. Expect more playoff seasons from this group of youngster, assuming they can stay together for a few more years.

Old Orchard is a nice place to people watch. Take your lunch in their food court and watch all the housewives with their newborns, old people out for a stroll, etc, etc. The only other mall of its kind is Oak brook shopping center, the open air design has a certain appeal, although it can be quite a hike from one end to the other. Prices seem to be higher than normal, but considering the area its located that seems expected.

I remember when this mall first opened a couple decades ago, it was an outlet mall with a decent selection but great prices. Levi's, Burlington Coat Factory, Saks Fifth Avenue, etc all had outlet stores. It was worthwhile to drive the long distance for the cheaper prices. Now its just not the same. I'd rather go to Huntley or further north to Waukegan and go to outlet stores there. Not the shopping experience it once was.

I used to go three or four times a summer when I was a kid, but I only had the opportunity to make it once this year. Unfortunately almost all of the rollercoasters that I rode on as a child are gone, the replacements are bigger faster and more thrilling but I'm kinda nostalgic for the ones I had grown to love. The food isn't too expensive, but you're more than welcome to bring your own (of course leave it in your car). Make sure to just buy a season pass if you're going to go more than 2 times in a season.
