Jim Hanley's Universe is located in NYC near Madison Square Garden, and is popular with the tourists. There's always a huge influx streaming towards this place. Maybe that accounts for the lackof back issues available, but they are trying to fix that problem. If you are selling a good collection, they might offer you some good money for it. They carry everything from the two big publishers to all indepedent comic books. Lots of merchandise is readily available. There is also a lot of comic book signings from the many writers and artists who produce them. Even celebrities come by and grace their presence at this store. As you can imagine this place is packed as a result. It's a fun place to visit if you are in Manhattan and wish to experience something on a bigger scale. Definitely a treat.

Funny Business Comics in NYC is a dark and gloomy place. For a place that advertises itself as a comic book store, they certainly have more opera CDs than anything else. They do sell some comic books but mostly old, vintage type. Because the look of the place is a bit creepy, I wouldn't dedicate the time to put in a search. They used to sell a lot of new comic books but that changed and declined. I think the best thing that the store can do is change its name to reflect more of what they are actually selling.

Ariel Books is a great store in New Paltz, NY. There's a different vibe to this place being located in a small town especially with Suny College nearby. All the students come by and hangout over here and the Starbucks next door. Besides selling all the best-sellers, they also have a corner dedicated to the history of New Paltz with books reflecting the changes in this town. Lots of authors come here to do signings and it alwys creates a buzz. This family owned business has been here for over 30 years and treats everyone is such a friendly manner. Book stores like this one should be supported.

This place is always bustling with people, not only from the local area, but those from out of town as well. The selections are incredible and the size of these fruits and vegetables are enoromous. You can't find these in any supermarket without paying a lot for it. Luckily, everything here is cheaper than the big stores. It's even better when you can choose the amount you actually wish to buy instead of having to get them in bunches and paying for extra. They also sell the best flowers I have seen in the area. A trip to Wallkill View Farm is always worth it. You can't go wrong by making a stop.
