I really really like this place. We go here about once a month and have dinner and a little sushi. The chef cooks your meal right in front of you and the others seated at the table. Oftentimes, the people at the tables will start talking to one another and you have instant guests for dinner. The prices are reasonable and you can find coupons (buy one get one half off) in the back of the phone book. Their waitstaff is all dressed in kimonos and most of them are Asian (although not all are Japanese). The chefs like to interact with the groups at the tables. Very fun place to go, even with the kids.

This is one of the places downtown were a lot of deals and business happen. It is on the sixth floor of the petroleum club building and they have a wonderful view of the downtown area. You can even see the new stadium being built. This is a wonderful place to go if you are dressed up, coming from the opera or ballet, and want to celebrate. They have happy hours after five and special dances and festivities throughout the year. You need to be a member of the club, although membership isn't that expensive. Our company has a membership and anyone in the company can use the membership as long as you are on their "list.'

This store is over in the Farm Shopping Center and is pretty neat for dog lovers. Obviously you can bring your dog in there and the store is just like a little bakery for dogs. The food/treats are healthy and help your dog look their best. They have all kinds of outfits, leashes, dog dishes, and everything else you could think of that your dog would need. Neat little store with a great niche.

Good place to go if you are looking for some relatively inexpensive fun for the family or if you are a kid at heart like myself. Get $20 in quarters and you can have a good old time playing air hockey or a myriad of video games. They serve food here as well but it is obviously designed for kids so therefore not very palatable for adults that like something besides pepperoni pizza. This would also be a good place for dates because you are actually doing something instead of watching a movie.

Big Splash if fun for everyone in the family or group. They have a big wave pool, tube rides, various slides and a nice area of the little ones to play. They have a lot of sunning chairs as well as covered areas. The park is maintained pretty well but the level of chlorine in the water is overwhelming. Of course, with all the people that use the park it is understandable. My favorite is the Silver Bullet a/k/a the wedgie maker. I still like going here every now and then although try to go during the week, the weekends are outta control crowded.

Bell's is a Tulsa landmark and the Zingo, a wooden rollercoaster, is the biggest wooden one in the country I believe. The park is fun to go to if you are just out looking a good time with the family or if you are at a company picnic (they do a lot of those at Bell's). It is good for kids and teenagers hang out there sometimes but if you are looking for thrill rides, this is not the place to go. The rides have all stayed the exact same since I was a kid and there have been no new changes. It is nostalgic going there because it reminds me of childhood but the park definitely needs a makeover. Maybe moving it to Jenks is a great idea.

This is a good marine and freshwater fish store. Their prices are reasonable and they have a pretty good selection of fish. If you are looking for something in particular, they can order it for you. The freezer they have is full of frozen brine shrimp and other varieties of food for your marine fish. They have various skimmers, powerheads, filters, salt, and the best deal of all is that premixed and aged saltwater is way cheap, under a dollar a gallon last time I checked. They have a lot freshwater fish although I am not familiar with freshwater fish.

I agree about them changing the Nutcracker. They should offer the original classic Nutcracker as well as a show where they put a fresh spin on it. Either way, you really can't go wrong if you go to the Tulsa Ballet. Their performers are very good and scenery they use is really nice. The prices are about $30 to $40 for a good second tier seat. The productions really are very professional and easily rival some of the ballets in bigger cities. Tulsa really has a good cultural scene.

PAWS of Tulsa is a no kill pet facility that houses really good adoptable animals. They have a vet clinic there on the premises that gets the animals physically ready for adoption and are staffed by vets volunteering their time. Some of the animals are sent to live with foster families until a home is found for them and other animals stay at the shelter until they find a home for them. Either way you go, you will have plenty of selection to find that dog or cat that you just can't live without. Their adoption fees are around $75 or so but the animal is already spayed or neutered and has updated shots.
