I had a great dinner with my friend Valerie last night. We got a table by the window, which made it a lovely setting. It wasn't too crowded (Wed night) so it was quiet enough to chat. The waiter was friendly and upbeat, as usual. The pasta tish was tasty and quick, as was the quesadilla I had for an apetizer. Valerie's cesar salad looked good, too. All in all, a good evening, potentially better than Perry's on Union.

I've been to a CPK before in San Francisco, but I don't recall it being as nice as the one in Monterey. Here, there is a large and friendly waitstaff (so large, in fact, where they ask how things are going a little too often), clean and professional decor, and overall a lovely location. But -- given the name of the restaurant, you'd expect a place a little more casual and inexpensive. Alas, a lunch for two (with two appitzers and two pizzas) came out to $42. The food was good, so it was worth it, but know that the price is in that range, not the $25 for two range, which is what I anticipated.

The SF Junto met here. Small portions, a bit pricier than expected, and not as quiet as I would have liked. Still, a hip kind of atmosphere with friendly waitstaff. Summation: so-so.

Brad and Amy took me to Japango for sushi last night and it was excellent. It seemed fresh, the waitress was friendly and accommodating, and it was quiet enough to have a conversation. It also emitted a certain "hipness" which I should have expected, given my hosts. Hence, being an 18 year old very focused on where I'm seen, Japango probably improved my image in Boulder considerably.
Overall, good sushi and service, highly recommended.

The whole basketball team met last night in the back, private room and the service was great, good food from a tasting menu, and perfectly sized.

I had a great chat with my friend Steve this afternoon at Reverie in cole valley. It was a bit chilly outside but you can't beat that atmosphere. The hot chocolate wasn't very good, unfortunately (Tully's is much better), but Reverie's is a great place to sit and talk and work in a beautiful garden in the back.

Classic American food, a nice setting, and convenient for public transit, JCC, etc. Parking can sometimes be tough. Pancakes always good as are the eggs.

Sears is famous for its small, circular Swedish pancakes. I actually had the tall stack of pancakes because I wasn't sure the Sweedish would fill me up. The tall stack was huge and I couldn't finish it (a rare occurance for me). Overall, the ambience is nice but it's usually very crowded and expect a 10 minute wait.
