Selmarie is in quaint Lincoln Square (little Germany section). This place is very famous for their brunch and the wait can be long. It has outdoor seatings close to a nice fountain. Their food is fresh and good. Wonderful reuben, quiche and wraps. The owner is really nice too. Their desserts are outstanding and the variety is extensive. Customers rave about their rum balls. You can get their pastries, cakes, tarts... and etc to go too as the display case is right at the front door.

The buffet is pretty extensive and food is really fresh. During lunch hour, you get a lot of traffic from the medical staff and students from the nearby Northwestern Hospital. It is located on the second floor. Parking... either you circle round and round till you find an off-street one, park in the garage or just get there by the el! Overall good food, good value for a downtown Chicago restaurant.

My husband just loves this place's pizza. They have good bread dough and crust. The tomato sauce is really fresh and thick. And toppings are plentiful. Be prepared to take home doggy bag! Also, if you are really very hungry, try their garlic breadsticks appetizer. Comes with tomato sauce dip. Very very good. The inside of the restaurant is completely covered in grafittis (including ceilings and chairs and sometimes the tablecloth). You can pass the time waiting for your pizza just by trying to read them all or draw some of your own (if you can find a space somewhere!). Parking is valet, unless you can find one off-street (which is really hard). But the el is not too far away and it'll do you plenty good to walk there after a big meal.

First off, parking can be tough on weekend evenings and the place do ge very crowded and noisy. Sushi is of very good quality. Price wise.... well, it is very very expensive. Not a place to fill totally empty tummies. More of an after-dinner kind of place where you get a few bites. It's easy to get over $100 per person if you include drinks.

If you like noodles, try their Katong Laksa (coconut-based and spicy). Their fried noodles are delicious too. We also like the Sarang Burung which is mashed taro that's formed into a nest and deepfried and then filled with vegetable stir-fry). Prices are reasonable and the ambiance is really nice.

Had the Pad Thai which was way too sweet and lacking spice. Try their Chicken Makhani or any of the curries. Good service. Ample parking.

The decor is quite sparse but it has a very convenient downtown location.

Downtown Athens is a small town with many drinking holes but lack decent restaurants. Five Star Day Cafe is a standout and was our favorite restaurant when we were living in Athens. They serve simple southern style comfort food quick and reasonably priced. I personally like their meatlof. The restaurant is not very big and can get crowded very quickly during peak hours.
