We went during the month they were promoting chocolates. Ordered the quail appetizer from their special chocolate menu. The quail was delicious and tender. So were the fig sections and greens that came with it. For entree, we had the Ahi tuna and Mustard-glazed pork chop. They were pretty good too. We expected the heirloom tomatoes to taste great but somehow the tomatoes didn't taste any different from the regular store bought ones. We ordered the chocolate cupcake with vanilla ice cream for the 3-year-old. She ate the whole thing up without help. Off the special menu, we ordered the Chocolate ganache (made with Scharffen Berger chocolates) with Grand Marnier sauce. What can I say? If you love chocolate, you'll definitely love this.

Lousy! We had the laksa noodles ($8). Noodles came in a very big bowl. It was tasteless. For that price, you get noodles, watery soup and 3 shrimps. The menu described it having coconut but you can't taste it in there at all. It tasted like they boiled some water and throw in some mild tasteless curry powder and noodles and serve. It is absolutely the worst noodle place we've ever tried.... and we have tried hundreds of places!

We came here for the lunch buffet. So far, it is the best indian buffet we have had in the bay area. Most dishes are in northern indian style, mainly the punjab region. We like the lamb sab and the special kabob. Very tasty. The fried fish is unique as well. Everything tastes fresh and perfectly spiced and just the right amount of heat. The naan bread is fresh and good consistency. The dessert (creamy rice pudding and sweet carrots) are perfect endings to a really good meal. The decor is so so. Parking is easy as they have their own lot.

I "visited" this diner with my parents and newborn baby on a trip to Niagara Falls. This diner is in the same building as the Niagara Falls Hotel and is next to the lobby. We arrived there at around 2:30 pm in the afternoon, and the last customers just left so the entire diner was empty. There were at least 4 waitstaffs there. We were waiting in front of them while they were "busy" with doing nothing in particular. They all saw us standing there waiting to be seated (how can they not? we were standing only about 3 feet in front of them!).... and we waited for at least 20 minutes without being greeted or acknowledged. Bear in mind, there were no other customers seating in the restaurant. We left feeling really lousy on what supposed to be a fun trip. I promptly wrote a letter to Denny's headquarters but got just a customary "we'll look into this matter" reply.
Check out the Niagara Falls restaurant guide as well. Boy, we are glad that we did NOT end up having our meals there. You'll pay a handsomely for peanuts! After 2 years since our visit, it looks like they got worse. We didn't think that could be possible!

This is another one of my favorite locally owned independent small business. They sell all kinds of stuff for example cute notebooks, hair accessories, vases, pet items, costume jewelries and etc. I love their unique hair clips and never fail to find something to buy every time I walk in there. It is a small shop but literally stocked full of life's little luxuries!

I love this specialty store. They carry a very good selection of houseware, kitchen items and gift items. They also do really beautiful gift wrapping for the special gift. I received a nice and bountiful picnic basket filled to the brim with very unique goodies from the Orange Tree for my wedding! They also carry a good selection of greeting cards too.

We were in Cape Cod during the end of the peak season but not quite yet off peak. We stay at this place by chance (selecting it from a motel advertisement magazine at the ice-cream shop). Most of the area motels have no vacancies or the rates were too high, and we got almost the last room here. This is a cute place to stay. Some of the plentiful amenities if offers are an outdoor pool, fridge in-room, coffee maker, several hammocks outside, a playshed complete with lots of toys, sandbox and play structure for your little ones. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. It is very close to the Cape Cod National Seashore. This is a family owned and run motel. Owners are very friendly. The owner's son checked us in. Price-wise, it is a lot cheaper than the nearby motels and hotels. This motel feels more like a B & B without the breakfast. It is also near the beach. We are very satisfied with this place.

It was a while ago that I came to this restaurant. As the restaurant's name suggest, go for the paella. The seafood combination with chorizo sausages on the paella is really nice. The restaurant has a nice setting too. The waitstaff sets the paella on a stand next to the table, fluff the rice up and dish out the paella to your plate. Nice. One paella serves at least two people. Also, they have pretty good cold and hot tapas ... just leave room for the hearty servings of paella. It is probably the only paella place in town... maybe I'm wrong.

It is a very lovely short drive from Madison to this little town (Cross Plains). You will drive past rolling hills and farmlands. The restaurant and inn is an old Victorian building. We had our small and intimate wedding dinner here almost 8 years ago. The chef was really nice and accommodating. We had 3 main entrees for our guests to choose from (Filet Mignon, Fish dish and a Vegetarian Pasta). Also, they have good local wines. Adjoining the restaurant is a small gift shop selling all kinds of dolly frilly knick knacks. Upstairs is their inn. Worth the little trip to experience something different and get a breath of fresh country air.

I like the pasta at this place. Try their Italian sausage pasta or meatball pasta. The Italian sausage pasta is mildly spicy and the sausage has good flavor. The tomato sauce is fresh and really good. The pizza is not bad either but I rather head to Chicago for that. This restaurant has nice setting too. There is a nice garden courtyard area for dining in summer season. Yeah, it has been there like forever.
