The tellers at the First Bank in Vail are always friendly and they welcome your dogs [even give out treats!] There is rarely a long line, and if there is one at least all of the windows are open and they are working hard, which is great. They also give a lot of money to local organizations, which is nice.

The FirstBank in Minturn is not open any helpful hours, they have the hours of yesteryear: they close at 4 most days except Friday when they stay open till 5. They are not open on Saturdays. In my opinion, why bother to have a branch there if you are not goign to be open the hours workign people need? I do like First Bank overall though.

NOt so great. We have several policies with them and it seems there is always somethign wrong. However, they do work with me to correct it which is nice. I do like that it is a small office so they know our names. I think it's quite expensive, I just got a quote from Progressive that might save us $700 a year. They dropped the ball on our house insurance which almost lead to us not being able to close on time--they are somewhat scatter brained. Again, when you get thme on the phone they are nice and seem to know what they are doing.

I brought a car here several years ago and had nothing with problems with it each time. The day I got it back, I was driving up Vail pass and the car overheated and died. Prior to bringing it to Golden Eagle, I had no real problems with the car. When I asked to have all the repairs done for free, I was told since my car was "not in the computer" they could not be sure what I had done. Never mind I had receipts. These guys are liars and give mechanics a bad name. DO NOT GO HERE

Wags and Whiskers has organic food, they really research the products they sell... their food does not have fillers and other crap. They believe your animal is part of your family so you would want it to eat the best. I know sort of over the top but it's great. Mark is a trainer and so patient with the dogs too. And if you have a leash, your poocher can come in with you and get some free treats. The staff is very helpful and knows a lot about the food/products they sell. Cannot recommend them enough! It's far from cheap, but the food is quality, not what you would buy at Wal Mart. Good for your dog!

The Vail Cascade has a lot of local members as well as tourists. They have great off season specials at their spa, and the front desk help seems to be friendly and not intimidating. The spa treatments are lovely, the staff very good and the lounging room heavenly. The club is big, with an indoor track and lots of machines. Even so, it gets quite crowded after work. They offer a good range of classes.

This place has it ALL--candles, CDs, glassware, skis, snowsuits, books, cookware, kids stuff.. and it's all crammed in. There are some great bargains to be found here, but you have to be willing to hunt and deal with kids running around and minor chaos. A bonus is that all the proceeds go to local charities. Not for those who don't want to do a little searching!
