This store used to be a gear head's paradise. They specialized in telemark, mountaineering and back country gear. Those days are over and now they cater to tourists looking for a $1200 leather coat, $750 belt buckle or fancy pair of jeans. The staff is still super friendly, the clothing is western cute, but there is very little Patagonia type clothing any more.

Beaver Creek caters to their customers. There are escalators to help you navigate the village, volunteers strategically placed to answer questions and just a general chi chi attitude. This all comes at a price though. Nothing in Beaver Creek is cheap, and there is an added surcharge on EVERYTHING.The mounatin is FUN though! Green groomers for beginners to gnarly black diamonds with lots of bumps, steeps and powder.

They have tons of ski and snowboard stuff and know the business! Oh and bike stuff in the summer. The shop is sort of hard to find, but it is worth searching it out. It is a joy to have someone in a ski town actually provide customer service instead of acting like the customer is a pain in the arse! It's a small shop but they can fulfill pretty much any bike or ski need.

Garts is the place to go if you are looking for basic sporting goods and don't have the time to run to Denver. But you will get very little customer service, well actually I don't think I have ever gotten any help there. The prices aren't much better than teh little local retailers, but if you are looking for a last-mintue sports bra or deal on running shoes, Gart fills in. They have a ton of stuff if you can handle digging through packed aisles to find it.

I had one problem, they got me in THAT day, fixed me up and sent me on my way. And who doesnt' love a free toothbrush too? It's hard to find a good dentist here--the last one I had tried to get me to do all these bogus things. They do not try to sell you on product/treatments you don't need.

The rooms at the Hyatt were recently updated and this place is heavenly to stay at. If you are staying at the Beaver Creek Hyatt, you are probably used to the Hyatt way, courteous bellmen, friendly staff, high prices and lots of luxury. The beds are super comfortable, the lotions are great. There is a fire pit out back, fun to watch skiing and have a cocktail at. And the pool is just perfect. I definitely recommend staying here. It's in the heart of Beaver Creek too

The jeweler at Gotthelf's designed my wedding band and did a perfect job. I had diamonds from my grandmother's ring, he did not pressure me into buying bigger or more diamonds, and really listed to exactly what I watned. It took a while, but is so worth it. And he seemed just as excited to be working on my little ring as on a huge piece. They are great!
