Coopers is a through back to the old days where hardware stores sold just about everything. According to my husband, when he was little the store still had a hitching post for horses, and it would get use! You can find not just building/hardware stuff but cast iron skillets and my favorite -- baby chicks! They are so cute and fuzzy that it makes you want to take them home. Everyone there is really nice too.

When my mother in law wanted to take us to a chinese/sushi buffet in Sylmar I was very skeptical. But after going several times, it really is a teriffic little place. It is very affordable. They have chinese food and things like shrimp and sushi. You can actually eat the shshi, and the food is quite good. They are accomidating to large, obnoxious groups and small children. The place is always busy, the service is decent, for a buffet, and there is plenty of parking.

Delivery speed is average, not speedy, not pokey, but the food is worth the wait. Defiantly a great place to order from weather its for an impromptu dinner party or movie night.

Be prepared to spend seveal hours (and lots of money). Its a big warehouse, so you'll be diging though boxes of point shoes to find your size, or up on laders looking for the perfect leotard yourself. It can take some work, but that's half the fun, and a good way to find more dance stuff you never knew you needed! You never know what they will have, its always a surprise. You can find amazing deals. The staff is friendly and Danny is very nice,

It is run by a lady named Imelda and here you can find irish tea, irish candy, irish music, china, sweaters, and all kinds of neat irish stuff. She also has a (very small) selection of Irish Dancing Shoes. but -- if you're buying shoes from her make sure you know your size, or bring along someone who does, otherwise you could end up with a shoe that fits poorly.

She looks very young, but she's knowledgable, friendly, and a mom. Generally, unless you're late you don't have to wait long. The staff is nice. Dr. Han is open to questions and will patienly ansewer even the silly ones,

Dr. Hammar was the first peditrician we chose, essentially our insurance said we ciuld only pick from her group. She is very nice, but she's just an ok doctor. ShShe didn't seem to be used to parents asking questions or having knowledge of medicine and it seemed to irk her. It was like pulling teeth to get her to approve a genetic test our daugther needed sto check for something several of her cousin had. The nurses were nice, but the front desk staff wasn't. You had to wait a very long time. The waiting room was dirty too. So glad I found a different doctor to go to.

They have very good prices on Brio Train stuff (though the selection is small). The staff are friendly and its a great place to find toys that are a little different.

I love Dr. Bloom, she is a fabulous pediatrician. unless you're late you generally don't have to wait very long. The offices are decorated in a charming, kid frienly manner. She takes time with the kids and talks to them on their level (she's a mom too). She explains things to parents and will answer all your questions without making you feel stupid. I highly recommend her.
