I think that the Alcatraz tour is incredible. The boat ride over gives a beautiful view of the island and of San Francisco. There are options for tours but both times I have gone I choose the cassette tour where you listen on your headset and walk the prison on your own. It is in the words of the actual guards and prisoners and gives you a real feel for what it was like when the island was home to the prison. Such a big part of American history.

I was in San Francisco and wanted to eat in North Beach but could not find any parking so we decided to head back to Pier 39 which we were hanging out at earlier. We decided to get some crabs at the Crab House and I did not have great expectations since I assumed this place catered to tourists and would not be that good... but I was so wrong. We ate the crab feast (not sure what it is called for 2 people) and it was great. Crabs never fill me up but the taste was delicious. A little expensive but worth it.

Chowders is a decent place to get a bowl of New England claim chowder when you are at Pier 39. It is setup like a food court type of place to eat so you order your food and eat it at a table or bench. The chowder is creamy and has pretty good flavor for somewhere outside of New England. The prices are reasonable.

Crepe Vine is a great restaurant not only for crepes but salads and sandwiches also. I found this restaurant on a vacation in San Francisco and it was a delight. The neighborhood is a great cozy place and so is this popular place. The line was incredibly long so stake out a talbe and send a friend to place the order. They offer a lot of choices of crepes and I love that they do not all have nutella.

We originally thought we would pack ourselves but there is no way we could have done what they did. They were very professional - they packed the truck fairly quickly and very careful. They were very knowledgeable with how they packed the truck and fit everything perfectly.

Pat's cheese steaks are delicious and definitely in the top two. The classic Philly fight is over Geno's or Pats...and some will ask Jim's. In my opinion the cheesesteak itself at Pat's is perfection since they give you so much and the flavor is great but the rolls are just ok. You will definitely not go wrong here but they are not my fav.

The french fries are great and I do not care if they call them freedom fries - it is corny but American pride is a great thing espeically in the city of brotherly love.

I love their soup noodles and I always add their perfect shrimp dumplings. Their spring roll is great, larger than most and always comes hot and fresh. The only complaint is that the salt and pepper shrimp can use a little more pepper but the taste and feel is good.

Abe and Louie's is located on Boylston right near Copley Square, which is my favorite section of Boston. The restaurant is upscale and very modern feeling instead of the more men's club feel of many other local steakhouses. Service is good and the steaks are delicious. The prices are steep as they are in most of Boston. It was a nice treat.

I love the Capital Grille on Newbury Street. It is a little out of the way of the more pretentious restaurants on Newbury but it is still upscale. The decor is very men in business suits without being too stuffy. The waiter was attentive and quick to come to our table. The steak was cooked correctly and the taste was delicious and to my taste not chared.
