Nine schools on the Big Island that will receive assistance from intervention teams. Waimea Elementary School was chosen as one of the three in West Hawaii along with Kahakai Elementary School and Kealakehe Intermediate School. The intervention teams are part of Hawaii's accountability plan under the No Child Left Behind Act This school will be working to improve their Hawaii State test scores in various areas and comply to their standards based educational plan.
