If you are busy working but need a quick, filling and economical lunch then go to the sandwich house. It is located in the business area of Sorrento Valley so it is only open during the work week. The sandwiches are really good and for $3.50 a sandwich you can't beat the price. It does get crowded at lunchtime so it is best to phone in your order so that by the time you get there it should be ready and waiting for you.
I have also had catered breakfast and lunch at my office from the sandwich house and they did a really good job.

This location of Teo Leo's is very large making it a great place to have a lunch meeting or small gathering. The food and the prices are typical of what you would expect for a Mexican Restaurant in this area, but the spaciousness of the restaurant is why I come here. Also another great aspect is the fast service and the never ending bowl of chips you get at the beginning of your meal.

It is a bagel filled with a cream cheese like filing and then baked. For even more of a treat they have ones with chocolate chips added or cinnamon added. I bring these bagels into my office and they are enjoyed by everyone.

When I found out Carvel was going to be opening in San Diego I was so excited, since it is one of my favorite ice cream places from back East. Well I think something is missing from this Carvel, it is not as good as I was hoping for. The store employees have trouble making something as simple as a coffee shake. I have been in several times and I keep hoping they will get it right, but so far they have not.
I do enjoy the premade frozen treats such as the brown bonnet, an ice cream cone dipped in chocolate and frozen.
Also the soft serve ice cream is good and they have a little bowl that they use around the cone so your ice cream and toppings won't drip.
If you have never been to a Carvel Ice Cream Shop then you should go and you will probably enjoy it, but if you have been to Carvel on the East Coast then you will probably be disappointed.

Eat here. I discovered this restaurant by watching the Food Channel and I am glad I did. The menu is more interesting then most places for breakfast. I think the best thing they make is a pumpkin waffle, and they make it all year round not just for Thanksgiving, so when you have the pumpkin craving in June you should come here for breakfast. It does get very crowded so get here early or else plan on having to wait.

If you have relocated here from the East Coast it can be hard to find a really good bagel, but Garden State has done it. They are the only bagels I have found in San Diego that even comes close to a New York Bagel. They have many flavors to choose from and they are all great. My favorite comes around November when they make a pumpkin bagel.
