Maybe it's because my husband has gone here since he was a kid, maybe its because every single one of the employees are friendly and eager to assist you, or perhaps, its the family friendly atmosphere that makes Party Port such a great little stop in Fort Gratiot Michigan. Whatever the reason, Party Port offers just about everything you could want out of a party store, and then more. They currently offer groceries, pop, liquor, bathroom necessities, cigarettes and cigars, lotto, dairy products, candy, chips, etc. The prices are slightly higher than you would find at a Walmart or Kroger, but I find that saving the time of NOT going to Walmart or Krogers is worth it!

I went here first just to check it out, when this place first opened. Figured I would get a haircut and perhaps a eyebrow wax....well whoally cow! They are SO EXPENSIVE! The stylists that work in Addictive Trandz do a wonderful job, but boy are you going to pay for it! The atmosphere is nice, and comfortable seating is provided while you wait or between services. They also are quick to offer beverage or snack if you so desire. This salon is definatly the place to go if you deserve a splurge, but I sure can't afford to go here on a regular basis!

Northgate Ford offers a variety of services including detailing, carwash etc. The car was is wonderful, but the staff always acts like you are putting them out. They grip under their breath if you want a trash bag for your dash, and they complain if you ask them to wipe off your rearview windows. BUT- if what you want is a clean car, and don't care how the staff acts, this might be a once in a while stop, although I would NOT reccomend it. My thoughts are if they are this rude regularly, can you imagine how they would act if their was a problem?

I have been to literally countless salons in search of a good cut, style and friendly service. I found all this at JPenny Salon in Birchwood mall, located in Fort Gratiot Michigan. This full service salon offers everything you could possibly want in a salon, nails, hair, waxing, some massage. Wonderful, and the staff is always friendly. The downside?: You are gonna pay dearly for the pampering. But everyonce in a while, I think i'm worth it, don't you?

The Quay Street Brewery is one of my favorite restaurants in Port Huron. Its bar and dining atmosphere make any group feel right at home. Overlooking the Black River, you can opt for a window seat and watch the boats go by. You can also choose to sit in the brewery section and watch this brilliant establishment brew their own selections. This restaurant offers american dining, and I would highly reccomend the fish and chips- scrumptious!

I was very pleasantly surprised when I entered the Raven. The atmosphere is good, and the walls are lined with book on virtually every subject. The Raven offers internet service to their patrons so you can sit and surf the net if you'd like while enjoying one of there many delicious kinds of coffee! The food there is a whole nother review on its own. There is probalaby about 3 dozen diffrent drinks to choose from, and they also serve fresh pastries and bagels. YUMMY! The Raven is a wonderful addition to our beautiful downtown Port Huron!

I first went to vetrinary associates about 2 years ago when my husbands childhood friend- a 15 year old beagle, needed to be put down. Dealing with such a delicate matter these guys were the best. They let us have last minutes with our pooch and wrapped her for us to take home and give a proper burial. Ever since then we have went to these group of vets, simply put- they are the best! They treat every animal I have ever taken there with respect and kindness. Another benifit, they are really, really cheap! No longer does getting your pets shots have to break the pocketbook! I would highly reccomend these guys- once you try them for yourselves you will know exactly what I mean!

I have been a member of Citizens First Savings Bank for about 3 years now.... and when I joined I really liked them. Fees were low and the tellers were super friendly! Now however, fees have raised tremendously and I am currently seeking out another bank. (preferabbly free checking included. ) Citizens first is a friendly bank, and if you don't mind the $8-15 monthly service, plus the charges for just about everything else.

Don't get me wrong- I like our Walmart alright, and believe me, I spend alot of time there. You just can't beat the great prices. Like the White Cloud Diapers at $14.87 for the mega value pack of 86 diapers! WOW! Anyways though, if you are looking for great prices this is the place to be. Be forwarned though, the workers are not always the friendliest! But then again- if I worked like a dog for minimum wage, I probalaby wouldn't be that cheerful either!
