The food is fine here. There is always a crazy long wait for a table, though. I find myself going here only when having dinner with my friends who are broke and can't afford to go anywhere else. That's what's nice about this place, you feel like you are out for a nice dinner, and then when the bill comes it really isn't that damaging.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant anywhere. I don't even life in SF, but any time I visist, I make it my absolute top priority to have dinner here. The food is awesome, absolutely never had a bad meal since the 13 years ago when I first went. The crepes are top notch, my favorite being the dessert ones, preferring the salads and seafood for dinner. Just accept the fact that you will wait for a table, but just go, I'd be willing to wait hours to go (and a 6 hour plane ride)

I used to be addicted to take out from Zen Palate, kidding myself into thinking that it is not junk food because it is made out of tempeh. But this kind of food is sooo hard to digest, as I am not sure what it is made out of. But it is really fun to order from, quick delivery and the fun sectioned off to go boxes that your meal is placed in. But the food is hit or miss ranging from as addictive as crack to totally inedible.

I used to think Patsy's was the best pizza in the city. Good thin crust, good sauce and cheese and toppings. Plus it is not at all greasy. But that all changed once Gioia opend on 8th Ave and Horatio. Their pizza is so much better, andit is actually a lot cheaper than Patsy's

I've never actually eaten in the restaurant but I have gotten takeout tons of times. It is great for takeout, always comes super super fast and they save all your info, so you don't have to go over it every time. The food is always really fresh and not too salty or greasy at all. I highly recommend the fried tofu (and I'm not even a vegetarian) Also, the best wonton soup I've ever had.

I was surprised to actually like this place. It's a good place to go and have a few drinks with friends (though DO NOT go on the weekend). It's a spacious bar and the burgers are pretty good. Even though the beer is a little expensiev, there is a good variety to choose from. Also, if you go and it seems super crowded, people tend to huddle towards the front, so jjust push through the crowd and go towards the back. Also if you are from Boston and feeling home sick this place may do they trick, though I am not really sure why.

I never knew that cupcakes could ever be described as "overrated", but apparently they can. These cupcakes are mediocre at best, sometimes even a little dry to the point of seeming stale, which they most certainly are not given the turnover of this place, presumably all die-hard Sex and the City wannabes. Don't waste your time waiting on line and walk the few extra block to Mary's off Jane on 8th and Jane and get cupcakes there, among a bunch of other great baked goods (try the ice box cake).

I'm just not as crazy about this place as everyone else. I think the problem is consistency, I've had some really good meals and then some really awful ones as well. I think what might be the difference is whether it is a week night versus a Friday or Saturday, that tis the only thing I can figure for the difference in quality, that weekends are just too busy and the quality of the food seriously falters (ie ice cold pasta that had to be returned TWICE).

This place is great. The coffee is excellent, the food is delish, and the staff is super friendly. It's nice to find a coffee shop-sort that has a lot of food, and food that is actually good (unlike Starbucks). Especially good is the 3 salad combo that comes with bread. Only down side is that it is a little small and during lunch time can get a little crowded and pushy inside, but it's still worth it.
