I am not a big thrift store shopper, but I know that this place is way over priced nonetheless. I know when I go with other people that they are not very impressed, but that also has to do with NYC thrift store shopping in general, so I guess I can't really blame this place. At least it's not that bi so it is not totally overwhelming.

I like shopping at Anthropologie, but frankly it is just too expensive. I really love their housewares items, but I will never understand who would ever pay the kind of money they are asking for. At least with the clothes there are good sales and they are quite frequent. So don't waste your time upstairs, just go straight downstairs to where the sale merchandise is.

I never knew that cupcakes could ever be described as "overrated", but apparently they can. These cupcakes are mediocre at best, sometimes even a little dry to the point of seeming stale, which they most certainly are not given the turnover of this place, presumably all die-hard Sex and the City wannabes. Don't waste your time waiting on line and walk the few extra block to Mary's off Jane on 8th and Jane and get cupcakes there, among a bunch of other great baked goods (try the ice box cake).

This place is an utter disappointment. The baked goods are absolutely nothing to speak of. Sure, everything looked really, really pretty, but that only counts for so much. Everything just tasted like it was all pure sugar and that overpowered any of what should be the subtlety of fresh baked pastries and cakes.

Why anyone would go to Magnolia's for cupcakes when they can go a few extra blocks and come to this place. The cupcakes are 20 times better, and there are tons of options to choose from. The place is really cozy and cute inside, and the coffee is really good. Forget the cupcakes and go for the icebox cake.

I have always been a fan of Taylor's and used to go to the store on 18th street all the time before it closed. Now I go only when I'm in the neighborhood, but it's always a treat. The muffins are the best in the city I think, especially the cranberry and the pumpkin ones. Some of the baked goods are pricey, but it's good to keep us all from eating muffins and cookies all day long.

I like this place because the staff is really friendly and the coffee is really good. Don't wait on the ridiculous line at the Starbuck's across the street, come here instead. Also, the baked good at Starbuck's are practically inedible, but not so at Paradise. Also the soups are really good, though I'm not a fan of the smoothies since they are made with an apple juice base. (although I did used to live in SoCal so I am a little picky, I will admit)

It is super cute here, but everything i have ever tried was totally disappointing, EXCEPT the eclairs are really good. The coffee is really good, though, and the croissants aren't bad, they're just not as good as you hope them to be.

You can buy bulk, individual or even mini. Perfect for people like me who likes to entertain but cannot for the life of me bake. They always have samples on the counter so just pop in and give it a try if you are crazy enough to think you can't commit to a brownie.
