There have been a couple of times when I've really needed a tire but couldn't afford new tires. You know, a used tire to get me by until I could afford a nice new tire. Florida Tire Terminal has always been willing to sell me a used tire to get me through. They have never pressured me to spend more money than I had and have never made me feel like a bad person because I couldn't afford a new tire. They are in the back half of the building which sits on Main Street between the two sets of railroad tracks, so they can be a little difficult to find.

Fillmore Sales is named after Philmore the dog, who is almost always laying around on the premises. The older couple who own this store are nice and try to be as helpful as possible. I've always found this shop filled with mostly common stuff that is overpriced and poorly displayed. However, I always like to look because I have occasionally been able to find a unique bargain.

I recently had a car wreck and needed to leave my car at the dealership for body work and repairs. I rented a car from Enterprise during the week my car had to be left at the dealership. I knew several days in advance that I would be renting the car so I called Enterprise to reserve a car and give them my claim number, etc. I was assured there would be a car held for me; however, when I arrived at Enterprise, there was not a single car available. In fact, the girl on duty didn't even have anything showing I had called and reserved a car. Although she was apologetic and was able to get a car for me from the Sebring location, it took over an hour to get everything arranged. I do have to say that Enterprise gave me a five-upgrade vehicle at no extra charge. (It did cost me more in gas, though.)

Through the years, I've had several items framed at Couture's and they've always done a great job. I had my niece's wedding invitation framed and gave it to her and her husband as a wedding gift. We live in a rural area and need either cable or satellite TV to get any programs. If you want cable TV in this area, Comcast is your only choice. We had Comcast Digital Cable for about 15 years before we got tired of it. Anytime it stormed within a 200-mile radius, we lost our signal and the rates were ever increasing. We decided to switch to DirecTV and we've been very happy with their service. We didn't even lose our TV signal during last year's hurricane (as long as we had power). Now, that's service!

Bill Stephenson and his wife spend many, many hours gathering, organizing and distributing food, clothing, household articles and all the other items that the Church Service Center provides to people in need. When my husband was injured at work, there was a time when we needed food and the Church Service Center helped us out. Their help was given without judgment and they didn't ask for anything in return. The Stephensons are good, kind people - the kind of people this world needs more of.

My husband once had his own business. He was dependent on our family diesel van for picking up and delivering items for his business. When the van broke down and wouldn't run, we could not take it to a dealership to have it repaired because we didn't have the money. Mr. Chesnutt was willing to fix the van and allow us to make payments on the repair. He did an excellent job and we didn't have anymore problems with the van.
