I bought glasses at Wal-Mart but was never really happy with them. First, I didn't think the selection was that great. Secondly, the glasses never fit me right. They were always slipping down on my nose, and with bifocals that is not a good thing! Third, I could never see very good even when the eyeglasses were sitting correctly on my nose. I always felt the prescription was made improperly but could never convince Wal-Mart of that. Finally, the $300+ glasses I bought only lasted a little over one year. For that amount of money, I think they should have been better quality. I recently had a different pair of glasses made (at Eye Express) with the same prescription and am much happier with them.

U-Do Ceramic shop is a fun place to make ceramics. There are lots of things to do there, too. You can buy a ready made item or make your own. If you want to make your own, you choose the greenware piece you want to paint. You then choose to paint it with acrylic paints or ceramic glaze. If you want to glaze your piece, Mrs. Swan and/or her daughter will fire it for you. Mrs. Swan and Kathy are very happy to help you through this process because they want you to be pleased with your masterpiece when you're finished.

Whenever we develop a problem with bugs being in the house - whether it be ants or roaches, I call several exterminating companies for estimates and choose the company with the best price. I have used The Heartland Bug Doctor twice and felt their prices were fair (obviously the best estimates at those times) and their work was as good as any other exterminator we've used.

I used to have problems with something called a trigger thumb. It is similar to carpal tunnel syndrome but occurs in the thumb instead of the wrist. I used to get a cortisone injection when my thumb became painful and froze up. However, I finally had surgery to correct the problem. After the operation, I went to The Hand Rehabilitation Center for help to recover. The folks there are great and I believe my recovery was speedier and less painful due to their help.

Since The Service Center closed, Sterling's Lawn & Garden is one of the few independently owned, legitimate lawnmower companies in town. There are several individuals working out of their homes who say they'll repair your lawnmower and my husband has tried working with a couple of them but has never received anything but problems in return. One gentleman left our disassembled lawnmower sitting outside unprotected for four months (during three hurricanes) until it rusted so badly we had to buy another lawnmower. Sterling's sells mowers as well as parts and supplies for lawn mowers. They also sell and service Husqvarna products.

When my mother died, I was the one who was responsible for making all the decisions for her arrangements. It was a difficult time for me emotionally and financially. Mr. Nelson was very helpful and gently guided me through the decisions I needed to make at that time. Even though that was 12 years ago, I still believe Mr. Nelson was honest and ethical in the way he treated me. He could easily have steered me into choosing things I didn't need and therefore making more money for himself but he didn't. He helped me make low-cost choices which fit my needs.

When we had a part-time home-based business and wanted to advertise it, we had Sebring Signs make us some magnetic signs which attached to our cars. The people were easy to work with, the signs were made to our exact specifications and clung like crazy to our car doors. We compared prices and thought Sebring Signs was fairly priced. They were the most conveniently located sign company to our home, too.

Conveniently located near Pet Supermarket in the Sebring Square Plaza, I shop at Sally Beauty Supply when I can't find what I need at Wal-Mart. I think the prices and selection are much better at Wal-Mart, however, there have been beauty items I've needed but could not find there. If that's the case, I just cross US 27 to the Sebring Square Plaza and I can usually find what I'm looking for at Sally Beauty Supply. Although this store is small, they do have quite a lot of beauty supplies. I do have to say, though, that the sales clerks are not the least bit helpful. I was in there one day and looked at everything in the shop three times (that was three times around the store) and still could not find what I was looking for. Although there were two people working at the time, they were busy talking to each other about last night's date and neither asked if they could help me find anything. And they had to see me - I was the only other person in there for the entire 45 minutes I searched the shelves! I did finally ask for help and was able to locate what I was looking for.

RSN & Associates is a document imaging and storage company that will scan and catalog legal documents, patient data, books, manuals, in-house forms, etc. When finished, they also safely destroy any sensitive information. After my husband retired, he was an independent mediator in the state of Florida. He had some notes and other papers he needed to have scanned and stored on disc. RSN did a very good job for him. They are professional and trustworthy.
