The Sebring Historical Society has an enormous amount of historical research information available. Their purpose is to protect, preserve and to share records, photographs and stories of people, events and customs of the history of Sebring and Highlands County. They have wonderful displays available and their research materials include books published by the Sebring Historical Society, city directories from as early as 1926, a listing of Highlands County Commissioners from 1921 to present, maps, newspapers from 1912 - 2004, telephone books from 1947 - 2004, quarterly bulletins published by the Society, Post Office records from 1893, Sebring Tax Rolls from 1913 - 1914 and 1916 - 1925, Teen Town Sign-in Sheets from 1946 and 1948 - 1952, Tapes of Historical Society Programs and lots, lots more - all combined with a helpful, competent staff.

Bonnett Therapeutics is a husband and wife team, made up of Ron and Ann. Ron is a licensed physical therapist and Ann is a licensed therapeutic masseuse. Although I've never had occasion to be treated by Ron, I used to see Ann three times a week. She has world class, 5-star hands, without a doubt! Due to the fact that I have rheumatoid arthritis and have had several operations, I live with a lot of pain. Allstate has been my insurance company since 1987. I've had one auto accident since then and Allstate came through with flying colors. We also had damage to our car after last year's hurricanes passed through and Allstate helped get our cars repaired with ease. However, we're still waiting for a check after approximately six months. We've called Allstate's office several times and they don't seem to be following through.
It seems if the going is smooth when a claim is filed, then everything will work out great. But if something goes awry after a claim is filed, it is difficult to get Allstate's office to follow through.

This is your typical DIY handyman Home Depot. They stock almost anything and everything you could ever need and at great prices. What makes this store better than most Home Depots is their community service. For instance, this past fall when we were hit with three hurricanes and most people needed emergency supplies, Home Depot was up and running even though they didn't have electricity and business was not as usual. Since there was no electricity in the store, Home Depot limited the number of customers allowed inside at any given time. This meant there was a line outside of waiting customers, especially when there were generators in stock. Home Depot employees constantly walked up and down the line giving away cold bottled water, paper towels and other needed items to help make the wait easier.

One of the reasons I like Publix is that it is a very clean store. I think a store that is clean in the areas I can see has a better chance of being clean in the areas I can't see and vice versa. Publix carries items I cannot find anywhere else (such as Bon Ami); and if they don't carry an item I'm looking for, they are very good about special ordering it. Although I find most of Publix's prices high, I can still find some good sale prices. I think their deli meats are the freshest of all our local grocery stores. Their service personnel are very nice and extremely helpful.

Cindy's Hallmark Shop is a Gold Crown store. To me, this brings to mind words like regal and royalty. I feel like royalty when I shop at Cindy's. Marlene, the full-time employee, is one of THE sweetest, most helpful people I have ever met. Many of you may remember her from when she owned Ewe and Me, a craft and needlework store. Mike, the owner of Cindy's, got himself a real deal when he hired her. It's really enjoyable to be able to spend an hour or two looking at the highest quality cards for EVERY occasion, wrapping papers, bows and ribbons, ornaments, photo books, photo accessories and all the gift items while the music and soft scents caress your senses. Cindy's is truly a haven in this chaotic world.
