Len and I haven't been on a train since we moved to Florida. Now was our chance to use the Caltrain to get to San Fransisco.
The station we knew was Santa Clara as it was close to Len's daughter's work. There was no one on duty so we had to self service our tickets. A lady waiting to get hers after us saw that we didn't know how to use the machine. She pressed the buttons and we got our tickets.
The train had 2 seats each side downstairs and one each side upstairs. It moved around too much to sit upstairs so we relaxed at the lower level.
A ticket inspector came and asked for the tickets. He was very rude and arrogant and said we had the wrong tickets. He tore them up and said they were confiscated. I hoped we could get off the train without them.
We got off at Millbrae and caught the BART into San Fransisco.
Coming back we think we got the right tickets but no ticket inspector showed up.
It was fun doing the ride. However be very careful to check the timetable. Only one out of four of the trains in the afternoon stopped at Santa Clara. We had to get off at Redwood City and wait for another train that stopped at Santa Clara.
If we go to Len's daughter in San Jose again we will find the San Jose station as all the trains stopped at this one.
I would have given it 5 stars as we didn't have to drive, but then the tickets machines knocked it down a star, followed by the not very nice inspector.
This company needs some good P.R.

Over the years my husband and I have tried most of the investment brokers in the area. We have been extremely disappointed with most of them.
Tri Achorn has 3 brokers, Al Hein, his wife Helen, and Cindy. We are with Al. Over the years he has listened to our needs and pretty much taken care of them.
Last year my husband was still disappointed that our investments had not gone back to their original amount before the stock market drop. We heard another broker at a seminar and went to see him. Well, he totally screwed up our money so we went back to Al.
He didn't mind at all that we had done this, even though he is still getting our account straight.
We intend to stay with him from now on.
If you are interested he holds seminars on a regular basis.
The Tri Achorn offices are situated on the second floor of a mirrored building at the north parking lot of Gulf View Mall.

I have had C.D.'s with Bank of America for a long time. However, now that interest rates are going up, they just couldn't compete with other banks.
World Savings offered me almost 5% at the beginning of the year so I grabbed it. They gave me a pass book and a website to check on my interest.
The employees seemed very efficient and tried to get me to open a checking account too.
It will be interesting to go back to them when the term expires to see what they are offering.
World Savings is close to Publix and the Lane Glow bowling alley.

We started going to this location when it was Barnett Bank, then Nations Bank, and now Bank of America.
We had a personal and business account, when we owned Susie's family restaurant, across the street from it.
We also had a mortgage with them at one time.
We moved from Port Richey to New Port Richey and stayed with this branch because of the friendliness of the staff.
Well the employees have been changing so, a few weeks ago I said if it wasn't for 2 of the old employees still there, I wouldn't be passing other Bank of America branches to use this one.
I have taken most of my money away from this bank to get a higher return on my money.
I will still keep my basic account here but they just can't come up with the numbers to keep that extra cash of mine.
This location is on the corner of Ridge Road and Congress. Lots of parking as it is an out building in a huge plaza.

My husband is insulin dependent diabetic so we have pizza a couple of times a year. When he has pizza we go to Cici's as it is all you can eat.
I get a huge plate of salad, from the salad bar, and a couple of pieces of pizza. The only one I really like is the Spinach Alfredo. I then go back and get more salad and some more pizza.
This way I am not tempted to take more or go to the pizza dough based desserts. They have apple and chocolate toppings on them.
The price has just gone up. When we first started going it was $2.99 and I now believe it is $4.49. Still a bargain.
However, do not expect the best pizza for that price.
One tip is to wait for a fresh pizza to come out or order one that isn't there. The older pizza can get hard.
Cici's Pizza is located on the corner of Ridge and Little Road. Loads of parking in this shopping area.

The first time I walked into VF Factory Outlet and saw all the brand names at such low prices I was really excited. We purchased a couple of items and then realized that a thread was pulled on one, and one leg was slightly shorter on a pair of trousers.
When family come over we take them there and insist that they check every part of the garment and try it on.
There are some excellent buys. These are already reduced and then everything in the store has half off the lowest ticketed price.
When we go into VF and the Brit's are buying the store up I always walk up to them and suggest they try the items on. If they are taking them back for gifts we look them over and check seams, length, etc.
You won't believe how many people have thanked me because they are not really saving money if the product is sub-standard.

We came upon Festival Bay at International Drive by mistake. We had planned to spend half a day at the Beltz outlet Mall. What a disappointment it was.
There were very few outlet shops and the place was deserted.
We looked across the road and saw this amazing building. Festival Bay is an array of exciting shops, eateries, and a Movie Theater.
We walked around it a couple of times and then decided to eat. It is all in one building which is air-conditioned.
We just fell in love with it.

Whenever we are in the Kissimmee/Orlando area we check out the 192 Flea Market Prices. It states free admission and free parking and I would certainly hope so.
My husband bought a pair of sneakers at one of the booths, he has also bought a watch. Then earlier this month we bought 3 tee shirts for $10. They were good quality shirts.
Most of the booths have similar items so it doesn't take long to check them out. The other thing is that a good number of booths are empty so their boosting of over 400 dealer booths under one roof maybe incorrect.
Before purchasing anything say you are going to look around. Most of the vendors will give you a better deal.
There is plenty of parking at the Flea Market. Although the address is W Vine Street the more common name is Hwy 192.

This outlet store is situated in the Buena Vista Outlet Mall on S.R.535/Vineland. It is really easy to find from 192 or International Drive.
I call into the Character Outlet to pick up items for my granddaughters in England.
I can pick up Mickey Mouse items, the Princess products that my 8 year old granddaughter loves, and also Pooh Bear that the little 2 year old adores.
These prices are rock bottom. I got a great key chain for 99 cents, pencils, pens, clothes, tee shirts, puzzles and more. The savings are huge and the products have the Disney logo on them.
If you are in the area you have to check this store out. The outlet mall has plenty of parking and I always check out Osh Kosh, Carter's, and VF Outlet too.

My husband and I visited this Durango restaurant on the corner of U.S.19 and Drew Street today. We arrived at 12.30 p.m. and were seated immediately. I was surprised to see how quiet the restaurant was at lunchtime.
Our service was excellent. He brought our drinks and took our order. Came back with my salad and great bread. However, my husband's portion of Chopped Steak and French fries @ $8.99 looked silly on the large plate. He finished his while I was still trying to cut my Prime Rib.
Our server came back and I explained that my food was tough and I couldn't eat it. He brought back the menu and I ordered Southern Chicken instead. This was much better and came with Country gravy.
Even though we got 5* service I have to say that the food was disappointing. I will go back to this location and will order a salad or burger next time.
There is plenty of parking but be careful when you leave the parking lot. We had to get over immediately to get onto U.S.19 north.
