While staying on South Beach, Miami, we wanted to find some cheaper places to eat off of Ocean Drive.
We found both Miami subs on Washington and Lincoln. We used to have one close to home but it was closed down.
They have good food. I like the salad and Len likes the Philly Cheese steak or the meatballs.
The prices are very reasonable and you get plenty to eat.
You go up to the counter to order from a board and then they call your number to pick up.

However, Surf Style is one of the many tourist type shops where you see the same products for sale.
We did purchase a golf type shirt to send to my Dad in England and 5 postcards for $1.
They do have a good selection of products but the locals wouldn't purchase from here. If you are staying on the beach then these prices compare with the other stores.
While you are here stop at one of the many places to eat.

We were staying on Ocean Drive, South Beach, Miami, in a timeshare, and the prices were so high. We tried to buy a gallon of milk in a Food Mart and they wanted over $4.
Then we found a Walgreen Drug Store on the corner of Collins and Lincoln. They had the newspaper special of $2.49 for a gallon of milk. What a huge difference.
This Walgreen's was extremely busy and we did have a long wait to check out, but it was certainly worth the wait.

We found Smokey Bones after giving a gift card to family. They said how good it was. We don't have one in our area so when in Kissimmee we hunted one out.

We found Smokey Bones after giving a gift card to family. They said how good it was. We don't have one in our area so when in Kissimmee we hunted one out.
The service and the food were great. The bar-b-que just melted in our mouths.
The decor was clean and fun. There were loads of televisions around and each table had a volume control to listen to them.
We really enjoyed our visit and plan on going back next time we are in the area.
Located on the corner of Hwy 192 and S.R.535 with plenty of parking.

Last time we were in South Beach we had one of our best meals at Jerry's Famous Deli. So we arrived on the Monday and our first stop was to eat at the deli.
Their menu is so extensive it may take you half an hour to read it. I can assure everyone that they will find something they like.
I had the roast beef, salad, and fresh fruit. Len decided on the same meal. I ate 2 large slices of beef and a little of my salad and fruit. Len only ate 4 pieces of beef and still had half to bring back.
We had enough for another meal for me and 2 sandwiches for Len.
The prices are very reasonable for South Beach and I highly recommend it.
This restaurant is on Collins Avenue, or A1A, just one block west of Ocean Drive.

We went to Cafe Med around 5.45 p.m. We sat on the patio which was very dark. Len asked for the lamp to be lit.

We went to Cafe Med around 5.45 p.m. We sat on the patio which was very dark. Len asked for the lamp to be lit.
We ordered Bruschetta for our appetizer. Locally we get a great big bread stick covered with toppings. Here we got 4 small pieces of bread with very unexciting cold toppings.
I decided on the Crab Salad and Len the 12 inch pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms.
My salad was smaller than the side salad I got at The Front Porch just four blocks north of Cafe Med. It was okay but 90% was lettuce. I left most of it. Len's pizza was just okay.
The group were setting up for entertainment later that evening and talked so loudly that we couldn't hear. When I needed to go to the ladies room, both going and coming back I got pinned in by equipment. The bathrooms were not in this building I had to go to the restaurant next-door.
Upon my return there was a complimentary piece of Key Lime Pie on the table. I have to say that this was the best part of the meal. It melted in my mouth.
So if you are going to Cafe Med, go for dessert, and you will be happy.

Right from the off we were disappointed with the Hilton Grand Vacations Club. The young lad at the check in desk gave us wrong information. He informed me of extra charges that later I found to be incorrect.
The timeshare was beautifully decorated but very small. The walls were paper thin and we could hear the people above walking at 2.00 a.m. One side of us had a party until 12.45 a.m. another night either a baby or toddler kept crying on the other side.
We were happy to come home and sleep.
The good news was location, location. This Hilton is on Ocean Drive and there is nothing apart from grass, trees, and shrubs, and then the ocean. This is the only plus to this timeshare.
I would not choose to go back there.

A couple of weeks ago we were staying on Ocean Drive, South Beach, and found Front Porch Cafe just 2 doors away.
We had the largest breakfast you ever did see the first day. My omelet would have fed three people.
The next day I had the Spinach Lasagna, with a garden salad. The garden salad was so large that I hardly touched the lasagna. Actually I took it back to our timeshare and had it for dinner later that day.
This is a sidewalk and patio restaurant and is open for breakfast and lunch. I would highly recommend it if you are in the area.
Prices are high but all of South Beach is the same.
Parking is almost impossible. Find a parking garage and use it. We parked in one on 13th street.

Len's daughter actually turns over a birthday/Christmas card to make sure it is a Hallmark card. So we head out to Gulf View Mall to purchase from Liz's hallmark store.
I also have the hallmark card, which gives me money back to spend, in the shop. It is great because I get free cards that way.
Right now they have so much going on with the holidays just around the corner.
There were 3 people checking out when we visited a couple of days ago.
Always a joy.

Whenever we are in Gulf View Square Mall Len directs me to Best Buy. I bought this lap top computer there. Len has bought several cameras, cell phones, D.V.D. players and the list goes on.
There are plenty of people walking around to answer your questions.
However if you need to take something back or have a problem, the line can be long.
Out of all the electronic stores we chose Best Buy for quality, quantity, and performance.
This store is located in the Mall. If they open early they do have an outside entrance.
