Wow. There are not a lot of shabu-shabu restaurants in Orange County. Besides that, this place is an excellent restaurant. The atmosphere is very nice. Good place for a date, or to go with family. The people that work there are very polite, like most Japanese people are. It was delight to go there with my family. There was something for everyone to enjoy. If you have an evening available, please go there to enjoy a night of yummy shabu-shabu.

The people that work there do not speak, nor are they nice. When they bring the food to the table, they throw it on the table. The food is okay for $1.99. The funny thing is I never expected to spend so much money to pay for a meal. Seeing that the food is $1.99, you would think nothing of it, but this is smaller portions too. It is nice to go with friends to chat over the food, and order more to possibly share. Parking is also difficult.

This place has everything. They have a teppan grill for shows, they have a sushi bar, for people that are alone or just want to eat only sushi, they have karaoke nights, and plain tables. They also have a very large back room for big parties. It is a nice little place. The sushi chefs are very nice and very generous, especially if you buy them some sake, they are VERY generous. The only downfall about this place is the parking. The parking is very limited, as well as the seating. The place is big, but does get very crowded. If you have never tried a sake bomb, please order one, and tell them to show you the way to drink it. If they tell you put the chopsticks on top of the cup, then you are learning it, if not, then you won't learn it correctly.

I wish there were a few more ramen houses around the OC area. I love the ramen places in the Gardena, Torrance area. This ramen place is just okay. I would have to admit that the miso ramen is the best. The flavoring is very good. Their other good product is their potstickers and shumai. They are very good. I would assume that they are homemade like everything else is there, that's probably why it is so good. Their rice dishes are not that good and their dessert is very good as well. Regardless of the dessert that you try, it's good.

I enjoy having lunch at Samurai. I go maybe 1-2 times a month with co-workers to enjoy a lunch. The food is very good, clean tasting. I agree that the space and food quality has increased. The space makes you more willing to go eat at. The people that work there are very nice. It is nice too, because if you can't eat there that day, you can take it to go, or call your order in, so by the time you arrive, you can just pick up the food. I suggest you try their tempura. Most people cannot taste the difference, but there is something different, whether it is from the dipping sauce or the batter itself, it's good. The only downfall is, that at lunch, it is crowded, so sometimes it is just better to pick it up to go.

The life cafe seems to never close. It's a nice hangout place. If you are studying late, and need a quick food of even a boba run, you can go to life cafe, they are open until 2am. The only downfall, is that a few not so good people hang around that area, so it is a little scary. But if you mind your own business, there shouldn't be a problem. It is nice because inside they have the magazines, Chinese and Japanese, but I do not recall seeing korean. And then they have those pencil stuffed animal cartoony things. The best part is the food. although the food is not as spectacular like some real chinese food, the good thing is that it's clean and healthy tasting, so I guess that this is a trade off.

I love salsa. I love seafood. I love beer + seafood + salsa. Rockin' Baja Lobster is a great social place to go to. They have the baja buckets that come with wonderful mini lobsters and cajun flavored shrimp. The meet, whether it is the chicken or carne asada, it is tender and juicy. The food at this place is very good. The service is also very good. The cool part is that with the salsa, you don't eat it with chips, but hot flour tortillas. It's a must try place. If you feel up to it, you can take a nice walk on the pier as well. The only downfall again, is the parking. After 6pm, there are meters, but you don't have to pay, but if you go after 6pm, it is more crowded. So you have to pick your battle.

If you are in the area of Monterey part, the food here is great. The best part about it is, after you are done eating, you have to get a shaved ice on the way out. They have about 25-50 different flavors to chose from. I am sure it is less than 50, but the board is so huge, it seems like 100. But anyways, their kalua pork is to die for. Whether you have it in a bowl or plate lunch, you have to try it. If you love chicken, try the sesame chicken, it's also too good. If you are in for a drink i suggest a Hawaiian sun.
The only downfall is that it is quite a drive, although they did expand to the OC area, but the parking is hard. If it is busy there, you have to park on the street. But go, it's worth a visit. It's even worth the drive.

This boba house is a wonderful place to go to study, or go to hang out late in the evening with some friends. You can order tea, coffees, juices. Every so often they keep extending their food menu. Their food is to die for as well. One day you must check it out. The thing that sets this boba place apart from the rest is that the boba is sweet unlike a lot of little boba shops. The Irvine one is open late until 1am, but stops serving at 1230. The one in LB closes around 1130pm. Either one, check them out.

The pho at this restaurant is better than the one that is down the street. I enjoy eating here as long as I am with friends or family. The people that work at the restaurant do not seem friendly at all. They wait by the table until you are ready to order, which kind of rushes you making you feel uncomfortable. But they have fast service and good food, it makes up for it. A good side too, is that their food is at a reasonable price.
