I love the bread at Best Buns! There are several varieties - all made fresh and taste wonderful even after a few days. But the best is the sticky buns. Worth the calories - they are moist and delicious. Not a fan of the chocolate chip cookies. You can also try breads from Best Bun at the Caryle Grand Cafe next door. There are always lots of samples at Best Bun - which is great to try different types of bread offered.

Although I love the bread and baked goods at MM, I think it's very expensive, particularly some of the sandwiches and ready-made items that they offer. A loaf of bread should not cost $5!! But again - the quaility of the products justify the price - sort of! Get there early - especially Sunday mornings. The baked goods sell out quickly. My favorite are the muffins and some MM locations even sell Cakelove cupcakes and bearclaws!

I am allergic to corn syrup so I was very excited to hear that Spring Mill had fresh bread using organic ingredients. When I started reading the labels on the bread, most of them were made with "organic corn sweetener" which is a glorified way of saying corn syrup! I was appalled! The tomato Italian and three seed bread didn't have the corn sweetener and were excellent. BUt still weary of a place that touts all natural ingredients and then uses corn syrup!!!

I also think they have great expresso drinks - with lots of different syrups to choose from. The key to expresso drinks is GOOD expresso - Firehook uses the best!

I have been going to Andre Chreky salon for over five years. Ask for Jennifer - she always gives a great, stylish cut. Make sure to go early so you can enjoy a free cappaccino and relax downstairs. It's definitely a busy salon - but the customers are well taken care of. Where else would you see the owner himself cutting hair in the chair next to you!

Nail Avenue has the rudest receptionist - he is unpleasant and harsh. But if you can put up with him and the cramped environment you will get a good mani-pedi for a reasonable price. The service providers are good - they are friendly and do a nice job. The place can be dirty, especially when busy. Make an appointment during summer months and weekends but keep the appointment or else the rude receptionist will yell at you!

I hate when I get a facial and the service provider puts on my mask and then leaves me for 20 minutes. I am not paying for someone to take a break for 20-25 minutes.
That's why I love the facials at Celedon. While the mask is setting, the service provider massages your hands and feet. She's with you the whole 60-90 minutes of your facial. Although she talked to me about products for my face - she was not pushy. I felt amazing after my facial!

I love this bookstore!!! It's quaint with plenty of places to read and I love that it's not a big chain. The staff is very knowledgeable and makes great recommendations about books. The bookstore features authors regularly - I have been to a few readings. The cafe has good drinks and food. There is also a large kids section with lots of books and activities for children. I love PandP because it reminds me of Meg Ryan's bookstore in "You've Got Mail."

I loved this book - started it in the morning and couldn't put it down until I finished at 4am the next day! The characters are well developed and the book is very well written. I felt like I knew the characters well after reading the book. You can picture old Kabul and the glory of Afghanistan before the Russians and the Taliban. It's sad but gripping!

Mocha Hut is a great addition to the Petworth community. The coffee is great - expresso drinks actually taste like coffee drinks and not like lukewarm milk. I am a harsh critic of expresso drinks so you can trust my assessment! The muffins and breakfast pastries are excellant. I haven't tried the sandwiches but brunch items are well prepared.
