Madame Tussaud's is a great experience that is costly but wonderful. A museum full of amazing was figures that you are allowed to touch and model yourself in fun pictures and poses. The museum is amazingly maintained but can have significant lines because it is a very touristy attaction. Overall, this is something everyone should do once as toursits should not have all the fun

The American Museum of the Moving Image is a truly wonderful experience for anyone of all ages. The museum is located in Astoria in a location that may not be ideal but has allowed the museum to become a wonderul location. The museum keeps children interested through so many exhibits as well, something many museums cannot say. Overall, just an excellent place to visit.

The Edison Parking garage I left my car with was truly awful. In my experience, cigarettes were left in the car and I do not smoke. My air conditioning dial was also ripped off and yes, they denied it of course. Calling ahead was useless to have my car ready most of the time. Overall, they left me with a bad taste in my mouth and I can honestly recommend against using them unless the location is extremely convenient.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is an excellent art museum with a huge art selection that would take many days to go through if you had the time. The collection is wonderful with works of art that range from modern to classic. Do not forget that the museum houses wonderful cultural exhibits such as the amazing egyptian wing. All this and you cannot forget about the special exhibits that can range from decent to amazing.

Murray's Cheese Shop is definately a great place to go to try many cheeses that you can not just get anywhere. It is a village staple because it lives up to its reputation. You do not go to FAO without expecting crowds and high prices but you know you will have a blast with the amazing items they have including the always large teddy bears/other animals. This is really such a great place to have a good time being a kid or taking your kids. Overall, a must see whether you are a tourist or a New York native. Have fun and splurge a little bit because that is the wonderful experience of going there.

Beacon's Closet is just a place you have to see to understand - prices for the vintage clothing are reasonable but it is the truly amazing atmosphere that makes it distinct. The music, the attitude and the funkiness of the clothing selection are just something to behold even if you are not really looking for anything specific, you will see something to purchase. Even guys can find decent clothes at good prices - my wife always does very well there, which makes sense as the woman's clothing section is much larger. If you are looking for cash to sell your clothing, this may not be the place as they don't take too much and do not pay out a lot - you are way better with clothing credit if you are going to but stuff there anyway.

Strand book store is truly a wonderful place to shop for books - you really never know what you are going to find there from amazing editions of books to just the people you are going to see. Strand is an ideal place to find used books at great prices - the selection is really excellent. Strand is really one reason that village is excellent - go there and then to a coffee shop and your day is just made. Overall, I would recommend Strand to anyone because it really is a New York landmark to visit.
