Chili's has a group of regulars who gather in the bar to watch football games. There are several TVs (maybe four?) that you might be able to view from the restaurant area if you stretch and turn your head just right, but your best bet is to be in the bar. That's not a problem since the bar area is a comfortable place to be. There are a counter bar with barstools, booths and tables in the bar area. This doesn't matter, though, as people mostly "gather" when there is a football game going on.
Of course, you can order anything on Chili's extensive menu - from appetizers to soup to a full course meal to dessert. Several of their appetizers would be great for a football party. I like the variety of the Triple Play, which includes chicken crispers, Buffalo wings and Southwestern Egg Rolls. Since I'm not really a fan of Buffalo wings (too spicy), I usually double up on the chicken crispers and leave out the wings. If you're watching your waistline or trying to eat healthy, Chili's has several "Guiltless Grill" items you might enjoy.
If you're looking to whet your whistle during the football game, Chili's probably has the most extensive drink selection in town. They specialize in Margaritas and have about a dozen different flavors. They also serve beer, wine, cocktails and some specialty drinks (strawberry daiquiris and revved up lemonade, for instance).
Chili's is a fun place to gather when rooting for your favorite football team.

I enjoy shopping at the Happy Owl even when I don't buy anything. (Is that shopping or browsing?) This is because it's such a cheerful shop. Located across from Lake Jackson in the Village Fountain plaza, Happy Owl has a huge variety of party and school supplies (especially for home schoolers).
They don't have a lot of things with a football theme, but they have more arriving soon. They have some no-frills centerpieces, clackers (she called them; I call them noisemakers), party picks (for cocktail wieners and pieces of cheese) and drink stirrers. The woman who helped me said they would be getting in some fancier cascading and honeycomb centerpieces as well as cutouts.
They also have some football shaped notepads you might be able to use as invitations or for making notes at the party. Say you're having a raffle or game and need something for people to write on. These notepads would be great for that.

Located just off the circle in downtown Sebring, unwrap the Party is a small to medium sized shop that specializes in party supplies. I like to patronize locally owned businesses whenever possible and Unwrap the Party makes this easy to do. They have a nice selection of items at reasonable prices. (Not cheap, but reasonable.)
For a football party, they sell invitations, cups, plates, table covers, party picks (like for meatballs or sandwiches), party trays and banners. They also have balloons that are either shaped like a football or have an NFL design.
The staff is always friendly and helpful, too.

You may be surprised to learn that Taylor Rental sells merchandise as well as rents things. In our area, they probably carry the largest variety of football themed decorations. They have different types of centerpieces, including honeycomb and some with drooping or dangling pieces. They also have cutouts to decorate your walls or tabletop. Taylor carries one of the most unusual decorations I've seen in town. It is a large (probably 20" tall) blowup football. (It's like a beach ball but shaped like a football.) The nearest NFL team is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Taylor sells plates, napkins and cups that are printed with a Buccaneers pattern. I also remember seeing some noisemakers that would fit right in with a football party.
I know they sell a few more things that would work with a football party, but I've forgotten what they are. While the prices are more expensive than Dollar Tree or Wal*mart, I thought they were still reasonable.
If you're having a big party and are looking for something fun, Taylor can rent you an old fashioned popcorn machine. You know, the kind that stand maybe 7' tall and have big back wheels.
Or, if you're serving hot foods in a buffet setting and want to keep the food hot, Taylor has several type of food warmers you can rent.
As you can see, Taylor can supply your party needs in many different ways.

Unlike some "dollar" stores, everything in Dollar Tree is priced at $1 or less (candy bars, for instance, might be 3/$1). That's the reason Dollar Tree would be my first place to shop if I were going to decorate for a football party. Their stock changes weekly, if not daily, so I never know what I'll find within their doors. Even if it wasn't football themed, they sell lots of solid color plates, napkins and table covers that would be suitable for a football party. Last year, they had banners and flags in a football theme.
Dollar Tree also has an aisle filled with snack foods. They often have pretzels in stock which are always a good snack food.

If you're looking for a unique place with lots of personality to watch the game, try the Wild Turkey. If you've never been there before, you'll know you are in the right place as soon as you see the building. It's the one painted in camouflage (beneath the huge Barnhill's Buffet billboard). If you miss that, look for the huge, maybe 8' tall dinosaur beside the Wild Turkey Tavern sign. More often than not, the Wild Turkey will have a controversial quip on that sign.
The Wild Turkey has three TV sets for football watching, and they will be getting a fourth soon. Mike will sometimes have specials running during the games, so watch for announcements of those. The have a pretty extensive food and drink menu, including sandwiches, burgers, brats and gator tail. When the game is over or if you get tired of watching, you can play darts or pool at the Wild Turkey, too.

An unexpected place to join friends and watch NFL football is at Mugs and Movies in the Lakeshore 8 theater. This would be the ultimate big screen viewing experience.
Although I've never watched a football game at Mugs, I have seen many movies there. The theater is built on several levels so you won't have anyone's big hairdo blocking your vision. There are individual tables for two and four people throughout the theater, with counters and barstools lining the outer walls.
Their extensive menu includes appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, desserts, beer (both bottled and draft), wine and sodas. We love their potato skins and the nachos are great, too. I've had the fried mushrooms two or three times but have always been disappointed and thought they were too greasy.
If the theater is full (and even a time or two when it wasn't), you can expect poor service. Management just doesn't hire enough wait staff for it to be anything but. We've been there twice in the last six months when the menu was limited so we could only order a couple of items. Another warning: The last time we saw a movie at Mugs, the restaurant/kitchen was closed completely. I noticed they are now accepting applications for all positions in Mugs so hopefully they are doing something to remedy those negatives.

Floridians are big sports fans. We have a lot of football teams to root for (and against). There are the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars, University of Miami Hurricanes, FSU Seminoles, UF Gators - and those are just the big names! That may be the reason there are so many restaurants and bars to to to if you want to cheer on your team with friends.
The Blue Lagoon Saloon is always a fun place to go, whether there's a football game in progress or not. If you are there to see a game, you can watch it on one of the 16 television sets they have. There are more items on their appetizer menu than some restaurants have in total. Among other things, you can choose from grouper nuggets, fried chicken chunks (too spicy for me) with different sauces, broccoli cheese soup bites, smoked fish spread with crackers or gator tail (a Florida specialty). They also have some of the best chicken wings in town and lots of standard fare like potato skins, chips and salsa, nachos, fried cheese sticks. If you're with a group, you might want to order the sampler platter for a good variety.
If you want to order something more filling, the Blue Lagoon has sandwiches, burgers, shrimp, oysters and dinner platters to choose from. Many people think they have the best shrimp in town (even outdoing Red Lobster).
Of course, the taps are always flowing. They also serve bottled beer, wine and sodas.

Woody's BBQ was always hopping before Sonny's opened their doors. Now this restaurant is often quiet when I drive by. While I do prefer Sonny's food to Woody's, I have enjoyed a meal catered by Woody's and thought it was very good and filling. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Woody's to cater a party I hosted.
While the dinner I went to was served buffet style, they may also cater sit-down functions. I would think, however, that a buffet would be the perfect choice for a football party. The meal I enjoyed was perfectly prepared, kept at the proper temperature (cold foods cold and hot foods hot) and enjoyed by most. (You can never please everyone.) The cooks and servers were clean cut, professional, courteous and helpful.

Sonny's BBQ is near the top of my list of favorite places to eat. My favorites include their ribs, sliced pork, chicken and beans. If you can afford it, why not sit back, relax and enjoy your football party while Sonny's does all the work? They will cater a party for any crowd, any size, any place. Their choices are flexible and include all the foods served in their restaurants.
If you don't want to pay Sonny's to cater your entire party, why not pick up one or two items? Their potato salad, beans or crunchy coleslaw would all be great choices to serve at a tailgate party or in your own home. Once again, you could choose from anything on their menu.
K.I.S.S. and feel like a guest while you enjoy the game at your own party.
