GREAT pizza

Friday, September 09, 2005
Although it's from the folks behind Basil Leaf Cafe, the cute Italian spot across the street, owner Sean Tehrani tells us this spot will not have a pasta focus. The grocery will feature organic products, premium olive oils and vinegars, about 30 artisan and farmstead cheeses, 80 international wines with a price range of $12-$130, Belgian beers (with some organic offerings), house-baked breads, and a variety of olives and antipasti. Other edibles will include salads, made-to-order sandwiches and individual-sized thin-crust pizzas with gourmet toppings like potatoes and rosemary. There will also be heat-and-eat entrees like venison in port wine sauce with mushrooms (other off-the-beaten-path game offerings will include buffalo, ostrich and pheasant). Delivery will begin a few weeks after the doors open. Wine tastings are slated to begin this fall.
