Tried Gourmet 88 a few times and have never liked the food, as much as I would like to. White table clothes on round tables; quiet, large dining area; good dining atmosphere, it seems the perfect place for good Chinese dining. Problem is the food is a bit mediocre and I’ve never gotten an order of white rice that didn’t seem a day old. Advice: Eat where Chinese people eat. And bring your co-workers here if you don’t like them much.

The food at Chadaka is presented very prettily and is very enjoyable and satisfying too. Classy Thai food in a small restaurant setting with bar in the back. You get the pleasure of an excellent, pricey looking meal in a comfortable setting--if you eat on the front patio, I’ve yet to eat inside near the bar. Good with friends who like sophistication and champagne with their meals without having to dress up and deal with a higher scale restaurant.

Sanamluang is perfect for the night owl dining, it’s open to 4am and practically always has a line. Parking can be difficult, it’s stacked parking, so just utilize the attendant to keep your car safe. The cafe is not the cleanest and it has a lot of wear, evident in the fading plates and such, but the food is fast, fresh, and solid Thai dining. Very convenient at night when everywhere else is closing or has closed for the night.. Very casual, quite cheap, and food can be very good.

Known for its vegetarian dishes, but I’m not vegetarian, so all I can say is that the food seemed decent enough--the atmosphere might have distracted from my enjoyment the times I’ve eaten there. Music can be very loud and hard to talk over. Lighting is dim, in order to utilize candle light, but doesn’t feel terribly intimate. Decor is great, with interesting booths for more casual (or sensual) dining while lounging on the floor. Electric Lotus plays on the aural and visual senses, but I guess I like my Indian in quieter places.

The Palms has the best Thai food in L.A., in my opinion, which is why I always recommend the Palms, even though seating is sometimes hard to get, and if you don’t score a booth, you have to seat yourselves picnic table style, elbow to elbow with other patrons. Despite that and an often hectic atmosphere on busy nights, the food is so fresh and tasty. It tastes like mom’s, seriously. Mom was impressed. Perfectly Authentic. Several adventurous choices on the menu too, like bugs and frogs. And if you are lucky, you can be dining on a night with really great, live musical entertainment. Service is fast and reliable, dining area has great decor and feel.

This place is way too busy and chaotic feeling. Seating takes a while, and with large groups it can feel inconvenient. Pretty darn noisy and the menu is supposed to be clever, but the food itself was uneven. Rather pricey too. Service was good but I wish the food had been better. Next time will pass for smaller or more quiet venues.

Fun, retro place to enjoy diner fare. Food seemed decent to me, place seemed clean enough. Always found ordering a milk shake to be fun. Good for families, kids, and friends, the novelty and enjoyment is really in the decor, comfty, booth seats, and americana menu choices. Well lit and positive.

When no one can decide where to eat and if no one’s a vegetarian, then Tony Roma’s is a good all-around choice. Often need to wait a while for seating. Sometimes the service is reliable, sometimes you wonder what happened to your server. The ribs are great, but there were times where I didn’t find them so tasty. Ambience is dimly lit and not very engaging. There are other restaurants on the boulevard where you can rely on a good all around experience. Tony Roma’s can be a convenient choice.

Elephant Bar is just pleasing to look at and be in, it’s quite engaging. A bit noisy, but it is a family restaurant with bar. Menu is nicely varied and dishes are attractive. I’ve never had a miss so far in ordering different entries. Prices are very attractive too. Always a good place for dining if not feeling very adventurous but wanting nice atmosphere, a good meal, and comfortable tables to spend time at.

Always enjoy eating at Kabuki, seating is pretty quick and the service is attentive and also swift. The half priced sushi is also very attractive, you can’t beat the price for eating as much sushi as you want. Ambience is casual, comfortable, and sometimes lively when the sushi chefs get active. Good for family and friends and affordable, good tasting Japanese.
