I have used Nick’s Frame shop on several occasions to have cross stitch items framed and matted. Each time I have been in there, the service has been wonderful. They are very helpful in picking out the best color frame and color matting for my design (as I am horrible at getting stuff to match in that way!), to match the color of the stitching. The turn around time is also very good, and the prices are a very good value. They enjoy repeat business! They do other items than just stitched items as well! My aunt has also started going there as well.

I purchased a very old and rare watch for my mom from an online auction site. The description said “it works, sometimes” I didn’t care, and purchased the watch anyway, it was a collector item, that I knew my mom wanted, and it would make her very happy. Once I got the watch, sure enough, I could not get it to work. I took it to The New England Clock Shop, to see if it could be fixed. I was told “maybe”, and left the watch. About 2 weeks later, I got the call that the watch was fixed, it just needed one tiny part, and it was less then $20 total (part and labor) to have fixed. My mom was VERY happy with her working watch, and I was VERY HAPPY with the service!

I went with a police officer friend of mine to West Valley Uniforms so she could get her new patches sewn on her new uniforms. The staff there was very friendly, and the fees were very reasonable....
I went with a police officer friend of mine to West Valley Uniforms so she could get her new patches sewn on her new uniforms. The staff there was very friendly, and the fees were very reasonable. I asked if they did “outside” alterations (hems, zippers, etc.). They said yes, but it may take a little longer than any sort of “uniform” alteration. I went back a week later with a few pairs of dress slacks to have shortened. They took measurements on the spot, advised it may be 2 weeks, which was fine. About 5 days later, I got a call that my pants were all done, and the price was less than I was quoted! I was very happy, and will use them again in the future! I also just took my favorite pair of jeans there to have the zipper replaced, and they turned out great!

I have had the opportunity to shop at Joyce’s on numerous occasions. The selection is great, and the staff is very easy to work with if you want a specific type of flower arranged a specific way. They delivery service is GREAT and everything I have ordered for delivery has been delivered on time, with no problem. They have a GREAT selection, at great prices. I was also able to get last minute corsages for a wedding with only a few hours notice, and the price was GREAT! I had my high school prom flowers done here as well, and even though they had a TON of orders to get done, mine was ready on time (I know this as I was 15 min early picking them up) and looked great! This place is a big hit with the High School crowd!

I have been in the stained glass shop on a few occasions, looking for a unique gift. The items for sale are very nice, the detail is wonderful. The staff is very nice. The times I have been there though, I have never bought anything. I think it is slightly overpriced, and some of it could be done for a lot cheaper (the smaller items) with a do it yourself kit from one of the larger chain stores. The parking lot is very tiny, and the store is not stroller friendly. I have friends though that can (and do) buy quite a lot, but they have money to burn, and I do not.

This museum has a wide variety of art, but it depends on your “taste“ on if you will like it or not. It is a nice place to “look” at some art, but the staff is not very respectful if you are looking quietly and not talking about the art there (to other patrons or to the staff). The location of the museum leaves a lot to be desired, you have to drive down bell road no matter if you are coming from west or east, and it is a NIGHTMARE. The parking lot is very tiny, in my opinion, if you live more than 10 miles from the museum, not worth the hassle of bell rd. You cannot short cut from Union Hills anymore and go “the back way”.

I love getting my hair cut here. I never make an appointment because of my schedule, and no matter when I go in, the wait is always less than 10 minutes for a quick shampoo, cut and style. The stylists there are all very nice, and they listen to you when you say “only take a half inch off” that’s all they take (not 1-2 inches because they think it will look better on you that way!)! The ladies there all know I have a son, and always ask about him (he is usually not with me when I go in). They have very reasonable prices on the salon products as well. I have also gotten one manicure there, and it lasted 3 weeks before I needed a touch-up. They share a parking lot with a large grocery store, and parking is never an issue! I have had 3 of the ladies there cut my hair, and they are all wonderful!

I LOVE going to Thrifty Joe’s. They have a very large selection of books, VHS movies, DVD movies and CD’s. I always leave there with more that I planned on spending as they have a GREAT selection, and sometimes even hard to find dvd‘s (like older elmo and bear in the big blue house for my son). They also take in books, movies and cd’s in “trade” and that helps my book budget. They have a GREAT children’s section as well. As 2 added bonuses, they have a mini USPS sub station in the back of the store, which is good as I am almost always out of stamps! They also have a small “café’” in the back of the store, which is nice for a quick espresso and muffin! The staff is friendly, and if I cannot find a specific book, they look it up in their system to see if they even have it. I go to this store about once every 2 months or so when I have enough to trade in!

I really like going to Bookmans. The store is HUGE, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I am able to be in the store, and push my son in his stroller with no problem. I always go in with a list of books that I am looking for (usually 5-10) and leave with at least half of my “wanted” list, plus 4-5 more that just looked good!. It is a used book store, so sometimes not all books are available, but that’s ok! The staff is not pushy, trying to get you to buy other books when they do not have what you want, which is GREAT! I always leave the store knowing I will go back! They are in a large strip mall, so parking is a breeze! I go about once a month or so and stock up! They also have a nice selection of Children’s books. I have not taken my son in yet, but the aisles are good sized, and should be ok with a stroller.

I kept receiving coupons for this store in my mail (and hanging on my front door), spend “X” amount, and get “Y” amount off of your purchase. The store is less than 2 miles from my home, so I thought I would give it a try. I was in need of a few new work pants and shirts. When I got to the store, I was immediately greeted with a “fake” smile when the sales associate saw me with a stroller. She couldn’t find the time to help me with anything, and I had a hard time getting through the store with my stroller. When I finally located items in my size, I found the prices very high, and not worth it even with a coupon. If you don’t have kids and have money to spend this is a store for you, but if you have kids and a budget, I do not recommend it! This is actually a perfect store being so close to Sun City…lots of free time and money to waste…..
