Sushi Samba Rio has average sushi at above average prices. I think you're paying for the "trendy" atmosphere. The decor is pretty cool, but the tables are way too close together on the upper level. There are better places for sushi in Chicago. But, if you visit New York, the original Sushi Samba is really good!

Red Light doesn't have the best service. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, we still had to wait for a table and then are waitress wasn't very friendly. The food was good (contemporary wtih an Asian twist), but I've had better in the city that was less expensive. I thought most items were overpriced.

My favorite part of the Bin 36 menu are the flights of wine. They even provide a card to write down your thoughts on each glass. They also have specific wine recommendations for every dish, which are always fabulous and the waitstaff is quite knowledgeable! I recently had the trout and asparagus salad, which were quite tasty. Don't overlook the desserts either--they are small but quite artistic.

This is my favorite Greektown restaurant to go to with a large group. The atmosphere is very festive and the food is tasty. The prices are low and they have free valet parking. The lamb was especially good, although the baklava was disappointing. This a huge restaurant that is always packed, even in the middle of the week. It's definitely worth trying.

I recently attended a large dinner party at the Parehenon. We choose the banquet option so we had courses and courses of food for a very reasonable $18 each. The saganaki and lamb were especially memorable. The portions are huge so we couldn't finish it all. The restaurant was loud and festive. Good food, but not the best in Greektown.

Lee Wing Wah is my favorite restaurant in Chinatown. The food is always fresh and the portions are large, so we always have leftovers. We like to go in a big group and sample many dishes at once. My favorites are the sweet and sour soup, orange chicken, and seasame chicken. We often get take-out as well, especially if we go during the busy dinner rush.

I've enjoyed all of the dishes I've tried at Joy Yee's. The bubble teas are especially tasty--they have such a wide variety that I try a new one every time. This restaurant is in Chinatown so parking isn't too bad. I would suggest going for a late lunch or early dinner, since lines to get a table around dinner time can be long.

Medici is just a few blocks away from the University of Chicago campus and is frequented by students and faculty. The food is really tasty and the best items are the pizza, sandwiches, burgers (try the cajun burger!), and salads (with homemade dressings). They also make an incredible strawberry lemonade and have an outdoor roof patio that is great in the summer. The only downside is the service is always very slow.

Calypso Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in Hyde Park. They serve delicious Caribbean food and drinks. The decor is tropical (the salt shakers are mini Carona bottles!) and the portions are huge. My favorites are the plaintain nachos, pineapple crusted tilapia, baby back ribs, and jerk chicken. Prices are very reasonable, especially since we always have left-overs.
