A dessert bar is a great concept, but our experience at Sugar was disappointing. We had reservations, but were told we had to leave after 2 hours upon arrival and the service was slow. The desserts were good, but overpriced (e.g $15 for a small portion of creme brulee). I won't be going back.

Sai Cafe serves incredible sushi! It's one of my favorite places to go because they have a great variety of innovative maki rolls (try the lobster and halloween rolls!) and the sushi is very affordable. My husband and I had green tea, miso soup, a tempura appetizer, and 5 large rolls for $50! And, they bring you fresh orange slices at the of your meal and a warm towel at the beginning. Everything is always very fresh. We like to sit in the room with the sushi chefs so we can watch them in action. The staff is really warm, friendly, and accomodating. They also have a patio if you'd like to sit outside. I love this place!

We heard such great things about Mirai that we went there for my birthday. I was really disappointed. Maybe it was an off night, but the sushi and rolls were nothing special. I don't mind high prices for great quality fish and innovative rolls, but Mirai was way overpriced for the quality. Yes, it was good, but not good enough for the price! I don't think I'd ever go back. I did like the relaxed vibe upstairs over the busy dining room downstairs and parking is plentiful.

The Mexican décor is fun and festive. It's hard for me not to fill up on their tasty chips and salsa before the entrees arrive.

Bongo Room is best spot for brunch in Chicago! The menu is highly innovative and changes with the seasons. Everything I've had has been delicious. The chocolate french toast, breakfast burrito, and strawberry sundae pancakes were some of my favorites. The waitstaff is always on top of things. They don't take reservations so it's best to go for a late brunch (after 1pm), so you don't have to wait long. You can also skip ahead in line if you volunteer to sit at the counter. My mouth waters just thinking about their incredible food!!

Adobo Grill serves upscale Mexican food. Everything I'd had has been very tasty and the prices are reasonable. Large portion entrees average in the $15-18 range. They make fresh guacamole and shake margaritas right at your table, which is nice personal touch. They also have an extensive list of upscale tequilas.

Cafe Iberico is my favorite place in the city for tapas and their sangria is incredible! Don't miss the cold seafood salad and goat cheese with garlic bread. There are several large dining rooms which can get noisy but the atmosphere is very festive. The only downside is that they don't take reservations and I've always had to wait in line to use the restrooms.
