Izumi Sushi is good, but there are many better sushi places in the city and Izumi doesn't stand out. The prices were average and the atmosphere wasn't super trendy, which I liked. The Tiger roll and oyster shooters were excellent, but everything else was just ok. In the future I will head to the nearby Sushi Wabi and Starfish over Izumi.

We always have a good time at Goodbar. There's a small dance floor in the back room on the first floor and the DJ always takes requests. The best part is the outdoor seating on the roof. Definitely check out the martini list--the chocolate one is excellent! I've never had a bad time here.

Funky Buddha is a fun club that features mainly latin, hiphop, and house music, depending on the night. It's one of the best options if you want to go out on a Thursday. I went to a bachelorette party here and they were very accomodating--everyone got in free and we all got free beers because a promotional team was there. It was great! The only downside is there aren't a lot of places to sit since it's a small club.

The only time Blu is worth going to is when you go for a free party. They're really easy to get--just give them your email address. Then you and all the guests you want get free cover and drinks from 10-12. The drinks are watered down and the dance floor is annoying because they have strobe lights that shine in your face periodically. The DJ is good at playing song requests. Again, only worth going to if you get in free!

We love going to the Apartment early, before the dance floor gets too crowded (around 1am), because the music is always great and there is no cover. This is a great place to start your night. It's decorated like an apartment, complete with beds, couches, and decorations, and it's one of the few bars that actually has enough restrooms. It's generally a young crowd, but since we just go to dance and ignore everyone else, this never bothers us.

Deja Vu is a late night club, one of the few in Lincoln Park that's open until 4am. We got there around 1am and the downstairs was empty, but we still have to wait in a slow line to go upstairs. I thought this was ridiculous and it's the reason why I won't be returning! The decor upstairs was cool but the dance floor was small and crowded. The DJ was playing a nice variety of hiphop.

We enjoyed contemporary Amercian tapas at Avec. The food was pretty good, but a little overpriced. I loved the wine list. The interesting part is the communal seating. You seat at long rectangular tables for 8, no matter how large your party is, so we had a party of 2 to the left of us and a party of 4 to the right. I didn't really mind, but it's not for everyone. The worst part is disrupting people when you have to get up.
