My favorite tapas are the goat cheese with garlic bread, garlic shrimp, beef kabobs, mussels, and Spanish omlet. The desserts are only average.

Wildfire is a steakhouse that is an excellent value. My husband always enjoys the filet with horseradish or blue cheese. The seafood is great as well and I love that you get a full head of freshly steamed broccoli as a side They also have an excellent martini and wine list. You can view the chefs in action from the dining room. The service is fabulous. However, the desserts are only mediocre.

We like to eat a late lunch (to avoid the crowds) at Maggiano's when we're shopping around Woodfield mall. This Italiian restaurant is warm and inviting. The fresh breads are really good and the portions are huge, so we always have leftovers. My favorites are the ravioli and amazing salmon sandwich with bacon--tt's so good I always devour the whole thing!

I've been here twice, and the seafood is always excellent! I love the blackened shrimp caesar salad and crabcakes. Definitely save room for dessert. The banana pudding is amazing! The restaurant is huge, but there's usually a bit of a wait, which is the only downside. The nautical decor is also really fun, and little kids love the huge fish tanks.

Mellow Yellow is a small Hyde Park restaurant that serves a wide variety of dishes, including chili, crepes, sandwiches, and salads. The food was decent, but the service was horrible. Our waiter was very rude and we had to wait to be seated, even though the restaurant was almost empty. Then we had to wait a long time to get our drinks and food as well. I will not be going back.

Oysy is a nice addition to the restaurants in the South Loop. The rolls, especially the Dragon, were all good, along with the miso soup. The servers and sushi chefs were very friendly and the service was outstanding. The downsides were the bright lights and hard seats. The nigiri was also a little below average.

Carmine's serves huge portions of Italian favorites. My broccoli and shrimp pasta was decent, but I've had better. Our server did suggest an excellent wine to go with our meal. The atmosphere is romantic with soft lighting and candles However, I probably won't go back since the food was only mediocre.

Brunch is fabulous at Orange! The menu is very creative. Try the frushi (fruit sushi!), freshly squeezed orange juice, green eggs and ham (pesto eggs!) or the fruit and french toast kabobs. The only downside it's usually packed and there's a long wait for a table. Parking can also be difficult.
