This is a great place to take anyone who is only visiting san Francisco once. The drag queen waitresses put on a great show on the bar, the place is an intimate interactive show. If you have someone really conservative in the group, take them here to watch them squirm! The place really is for any adult audience, and the food is spectacular. Truly a san Francisco must-do. They also do great bachelorette parties and birthday parties!

Gary does a great job – I’ve been going to him ever since I moved to San Francisco, about three years now, and I totally trust him with my haircuts. He is a seasoned professional and does a great job in his little salon on Polk Street. He is quite reasonably priced for a San Francisco hair salon, and regularly cuts both men’s and women’s hair.

This is a funky place to come for drinks and happy hour buffet – its located on the bottom floor of the Fairmont hotel, and has a 70’s Hawaiian bar atmosphere. There are even sound effects of a thunderstorm every 15 minutes or so. They have a good all you can eat buffet for happyhour, but it usually gets pretty crowded with tourists, so come right at 5pm to get in!

I have played soccer for a few seasons on GGSC’s leagues and had a great time, but my highest recommendation is for their Monday or Tuesday night bowling leagues. They are not always the most organized with their information and contacts, but the leagues and activities always prove to be a good time. Once you have participated, they have happy hours with good drink specials every once in a while, so you can mingle and meet other GGSC participants.

At first glance this place looks a little strange, as it shares a room with the “rouge” bar, and has piñatas (one of sponge bob square pants) hanging from the ceiling. The tacos are wonderful, but you have to be sure to order it “nicks way.” Nick’s way adds a soft taco on the outside of a hard taco with melted cheese between them, extra sour cream and guacamole. I recommend the fish tacos here they are my favorite!

This is a great spot to stop in and have a cheap beer, hang out with friends and possibly watch a football or baseball game. They have great $2.00 and $2.50 drafts everyday before 9pm, and have quite a nice selection of beers on draft. Watch out if it’s a big game night, though, as the place gets PACKED with people. It can be fun, but be prepared for it!

I particularly enjoy browsing their sale running and athletic shoes for a good deal – although they sell some higher priced clothing, their shoes are generally a good deal! They are conveniently located in Russian hill on Polk Street and have a great upstairs with more biking/kayaking/camping/working out equipment than you could ever want.

This restaurant is a favorite of mine for dim sum. The prices are really cheap and the food is quite good and authentic. This is an adventure for anyone that doesn’t speak Chinese, but the food is always good if you are willing to try new things. I recommend going on a Sunday morning for brunch, they get busy but I’ve waited an average of about 15-20 minutes for a table, and I think its worth it.

This dim sum restaurant has delicious food, but is way overpriced. My boyfriend and I stopped in on Sunday, they were very friendly and easily explained the dishes, but when the bill came, we were quite surprised. If you just want dim sum, I recommend going to china town instead of paying the prices here, but if you just want a nice meal, and are willing to pay for it, the food is delicious

You would never really think to look for this bar as it is hidden out of the way just on top of the Stockton tunnel, but I recommend searching it out for a night or two. This is not a “place to be seen” but it is a fun time if you enjoy a mellow bar where the people are friendly.
