It's a nice little place overall, but boy, do they LOVE to bill you for things! So, before you even go into the doctor's office, make sure you know what they are planning to bill you for! Contact-lens wearers especially - I got billed for "contact lenses fitting", because I came in wearing the ones that I had prescribed to me, and the doctor said I didn't have to take them off, and asked me if they fit all right. When I went to pay - caboom! - the "contact lens fitting", $35, was on my bill. By then I was dealing with the receptionist, and the actual doctor left, so I couldn't really argue - she was just doing what she was told to do. I'm NOT going back!

For those that never went riding on their own, that's a great place. They take on anyone, experienced or not, and at any age. The horses are extremely well-trained (even if a little partial to standing in the streams in hot weather). Sunny weekends fill up fast, so make a reservation. If you're more advanced, try to go when it's colder and there's less people: you can actually get a guide to yourself, and they adapt to your riding experience (especially if you are on an advanced ride). Great galloping up and down the hills!

So, the parts you need will run a little more expensive at this place. On the other hand, it's right by campus (not even a 5-minute walk), they have quite an amazing array of computer and periphery parts for such a small place, and the personnel are very, very knowledgeable. They really know the things they are selling, so you can actually ask them questions and get intelligent answers, including their own experience with the parts. I end up going there before BestBuy or Circuit City, just for the level of conversation!

So, I don't really know why they do it, but this place, while being reliable and friendly otherwise, always messes something up in regard to colors. For instance, imagine a normal khaki-looking shoe with a yellow-white sole. You'd think that a to put a new heel on, you'd need one of a matching color. Well, no - you get black. If you don't care about things like that, or if your shoe is REALLY BASIC, that's fine. But for nice footwear... Subpar. They do call you when it's done, though, which is more than other places in this town do!

So, the place isn't big or fancy, but the people there know their stuff. An unusual repair doesn't surprise them, and if they don't do it, they'll find a place that will. The diagnostics is quite a bit ($90), but worth it if you're dealing with a more expensive item like a laptop for example. They call you to inform about the progress and the timeframe for repairs, which is reather nice of such a small place. People are friendly and to the point (no "did you plug it in"? stuff).

Short advice - don't go. If you do think you want an elaborate answer, do go aheard and try to find it. Best of all, try to CALL the place to get directions. They'll send you to Chicago, if you're not careful - they honestly have no idea what the cross-streets names are at their location!
Otherwise, the place is dingy, has no lotions or anything nice you'd expect from a tanning place, they have 2 beds, and those things BURN. I was careful, and I've never burnt before, but I did here. Never, ever, going there again.

This is a busy tanning place located next door to a laundromat facility. (I suppose, you can get a tan while doing your laundry?). They have great referral specials (2 tans for $2), and their packages are rather good. On the negative side, they want your fingerprint (?!) to prevent unauthorized use of packages. They claim some of the tan-needy students from the nearby campus were a little too resourceful, and were splitting packages to lower the price. However, service is efficient and friendly, they have lots of tanning lotions to try, and a few "sun-tatoos" as well.

We took the combined tour of the river and the lakefront. You get a little splashed on the speed boat ride, and the view is what you'd expect the view of Chicago from lakefront to be. Getting into the river takes a few minutes, since there are locks to get into (I never knew!) The tour itself is quite informative, and the staff are very friendly, and can even steer the boat toward something if you are expecially interested in a close-up picture, which they will also gladly take. On a hot summer day they also gave out water to everyone on the boat! I learnt quite a bit on the tour, and for new visitors it is a great way see the city!

This is a good race-driving school. We initially wanted stunt driving, actually, but this turned out to be pretty good too, and friendly to all ages and both genders, which is not to say they cut you any slack. You can get a day's lesson with a race in the end and champagne for the winners, or you can just get a lesson and get certified to drive their track for a little extra during the season (May to late October, weather permitting). The stuff they teach (e.g. about taking the curves) is pretty applicable even to highway driving - it's really not so much about the speed as about the skill.

Yes, it's expensive. Especially with the dolphin experience. We cut that part out, and that made the entire thing affordable - I'm so glad we went even like that! As you come in in the morning, they have complimentary coffee and juices sitting out at the entrance; while you are walking in, there's a photographer to take your complimentary picture (and a good one). They offer as much SFP lotion and towels as anyone might want, you get masks for snorkeling and wetsuits, the showers are equipped with everything (and you WILL want to use those after swimming in salty water). Food at lunch is plentiful and pretty good, considering it's a zoo.
Regarding animals experience - do try to get in on the feedings: they feed rays randomly through the day (with raw fish, which the fishes in the same pool also try to get - I got bitten slightly), and birds in the aviary - almost constantly. The reef snorkeling is gorgeous, you'll want an underwater camera. They do sell them for $20 in the shop, but if you can get a postcard referral (they give 2 per person as you are exiting the park, so if you don't have friends who went, just ask anyone leaving a day before you go), this will be free!
