Don't even try to park at the Wabash Landing on a weekend or at lunchtime! It's a mess, and takes forever to even wade through the cars that are waiting for a spot in desperation. The garage, on the other hand, has passes that almost any business on the Levee Plaza will validate - and the parking is free. Great deal, saves tons on parking tickets (until 7pm the entire strip outside the plaza is 1 hour parking, and they WILL tow delinquent cars - I've seen them tow Moe's advertizement car!)

It's a nice place with an outdoor pool and friendly and laid-back management. They don't really care if your rent is on time, or what the actual dates of your lease can be. The downside is that this attitude spreads to fees (which they won't mention at the time you sign your lease, but will charge you after the move-in), and any other problems you bring to their attention. Washing and drying unit is a walk-to, not great in winter weather, but cheaper than other places. Overall, a solid 3 stars.

Make no mistake about it - this is the place that makes NO repairs to anything. None whatsoever, unless you actually draw up the legal claim and promise to take it to court. The airheads in the office know nothing of anything at all, the company that owns the washers and dryers in this place is totally a separate entity (and a pain to get your card deposit back from - I never did, and I sent 3 cards back!) Once, I had a heating unit, that was taken out of one aparment, sitting outside of my door for a month. I finally emailed the head office of AIMCO, and someone kicked the administrator of Williamsburg by the Wabash, but Goodness was it a pain! After they raised their rent, I wan't sorry to say farewell...

Crestview owns buildings at different sites, but they are all quite close to campus. One problematic part is that the below-the-ground aparments are quite scary, especially the studios. My one-bedroom also had an interesting feature of bathroom floor being warmed by the heater - still don't really know why, but it made for a nicer winter mornings. In order to park you car, though, you gotta put a sticker with Crestview on it (they WILL tow other vehicles)... and they tell you "you can easily take it off using a hairdryer". Now how in the world would a get a hairdrier to the car?!?! Aside from parking, though, everything was fine.

It's a community choir, of unbelieveable caliber, at that. The director, WJ Gray, sometimes brings students from IU music school to perform with the chorale singers, and it's the most amazing thing ever. The repertoir is varied and solid, and the group maintains a children's choir and scholarships for students who participate. Very family-oriented, so even if your spouse can't sing to save their life, they'll take you both on if you're good enough... That makes 3-hour Sunday rehearsals feel not so bad.

It's a shabby little store, yes, and not terribly appealing from the outside. The choice of fireworks and other trinkets for celebrations isn't bad, however. Some of the fireworks are marked "not for use in Indiana", which makes one wonder why it's for sale here.. But never mind. Plenty of cracker jacks and other carnival stuff, and even though the staff isn't helful or for that matter cheerful, you'll probably find what you need if you look long enough.

Lovely little place in the mall. They are always running specials on something, and make their own whipped cream in most decadent flavours (like tiramisu or chocolate-almond-caramel) every day. Also great choice of coffees, teas (including white and other more expensive varieties) and cookies/biscotti. Fun teapots, cups, and stovetop espresso makers. 10% for everyone working in the mall. Great break from shopping!

Very useful place. Excellent price, compared to a doctor's office, and really helpful staff. We've tried on nearly every pair looking for the perfect one, and they haven't raised an eyebrow. They did need the doctor's prescription for the glasses, but they had a fax to get it in. So, overall, we were in and our in an hour with 2 sets of glasses, and even managed to negotiate quite a deal with Lafayette Shopping Spree card.

Well, here's the place where you can find all the state quarters that you've been missing! Otherwise, an amazing selection of coins from various mintages etc. They'll buy the coins from people as well - they've got the system with the cost of any coin figured out. Also, tons of albums for storing your stuff, and a few things besides coins - memorablia and such. Fun place, and lots easier than hunting for that California quarter with D on it...

It's kind of a fun place. They have candy all along the wall, and if you ask for a Coke, they guy starts pouring syrup into the cup and adding carbonated water - how much more fun can life get? The drink is much sweeter than the stuff you're used to, though - just be prepared. The shop is also literally two steps away from the Farmer's Market, and they complement each other pretty well on a Saturday morning.
