This zoo is the best in the winter, when very few people are actually there - you get to roam the entire place almost on your own! If you have time at all, get into the terrarium part: their snake collection is simply amazing, but rather crowded with people, usually. The parking situatio is non-intuitive, however: I suppose I could have not paid at all if I didn't ask to pay for it along with the ticket. But oh well - need to provide good example for my niece :)

Making an appointment over the phone is a nightmare. The receptionists know nothing about the services: I has their web-page up, and was asking a few additional questions, and with every question they had to put me on hold and ask someone else.
Once I actually started making my appointment (I was trying to get several treatments in one visit, which is presumably good for their business) the receptionist kept putting me on hold for no reason, and after it happend the fourth time, I got another receptionist, which asked me to start all over again!

First of all, the services I got were excellent: a scrub and a wrap out of this world, and an aesthetician that really cared.
Now, everything that preceded them was a disappointment. I made an appointment for their special bath, and a day before I was going they called (in the middle of the day!) and said they it was broken (even when I made my appointment) and they couldn't fix it on time. Didn't offer anything to make up for this. The reception was at the salon itself was chilly at best. Once I got through the reception, though, it was really nice.

Whereever I went to get a French manicure, it's usually hit of miss, and you have to pay extra to get one compared to a regular manicure. Not in Eclipse! The owner, Shari, absolutely loves doing French manicures, and she's a magician - without using those sticky things or any lining, she just paints on two colors - they don't overlap, it's not even one on top of the other! - and it looks natural and neat. Blew me away. No extra charge, either!

They really do go out of their way to make their manicures and pedicures excellent. The package of both is $35, and it’s 10% off with a student ID, which is nice. They always do a hand massage with the service, and dry the nails under special lamps – their pedicures stay for the longest time.

I tried Swedish Massage and Hot Stone massage. Both were excellent. The facials are a little tricky - I once got an aesthetician who seemed to make it painful on purpose. At the end of your appointment, they give you a bottle of water, and a little Ecco Bella chocolate – a nice touch. The place is small, but nicely decorated and cosy, and they play very relaxing music.
