Max Soha is a nice little Italian restaurant very close to Columbia University. The decor is plain, yet cozy. The restaurant has outdoor seating and just enough room inside (parents: we were able to bring a stroller to the tableside). The menu was extensive, and there were a good number of daily specials. The waitstaff was pleasant and friendly.
Our meal was very good (black ravioli), served quickly, and not expensive.
The restaurant is cash only. Needless to say we had to leave to find the nearest ATM, then return to pay our bill. A bit of a hassle.
There's nothing really unique or stellar about this restaurant, but if you are near Columbia and looking for a new place, it's worth a try.
