Sonic is a really good place to go if you're really hungry and want something fast and quick that'll leave you very full and satisfied. Reminscent of the drive in's from the 50's, Sonic serves up all the era's favorites, like greasy burgers and crisp onion rings and malt shakes. Or for the health conscious, they offer many healthy options. I definitely recommend Sonic.

Wiley's Barbeque is amazing. That is the best way to describe the loads of perfectly cooked meats, tangy bbq sauce and cool sides. Every bite is like a taste from heaven, leaving you only with the desire to keep eating more and more. Although it is in the "bad" part of town, it is definitely worth the drive and not just in taste, but price too.

China Star is a pretty good restaurant with nice service. Although its a buffet, they will gladly cook food off the menu for you. The actual buffet selections range from the standard general tso's chicken to the more exotic schezuan spare ribs. The buffet food is decent, nothing great, though you can eat as much as you wish. If you're looking for a chinese buffet, consider China Star, but there are definitely better buffets in Lubbock.

Chinese Kitchen serves up the standard chinese fare that you would expect at any chinese food restaurant. The few times I have dined there, my food was always served quickly, although it seemed a bit undercooked and rushed. Although its conveniently close to Texas Tech, there are definitely better chinese restaurants around (like Little Panda).

Little Panda is easily the best chinese food restaurant in Lubbock. Located just across the street from Texas Tech, it is perfect for grabbing a quick but incredibly satisfying bite inbetween classes or cram sessions. The food is always fresh and quickly served, and each bite is blissful. The only drawback can be that Little Panda can get incredibly busy at times (which is a testament to its greatness), so it is best to call in your order ahead of time. I definitely recommend Little Panda for your next chinese food dining experience.

Great Wall serves up piping hot and yummy asain food. Located conveniently close to Texas Tech (right across University) it is perfect for those quick meals or longer dining experiences. Although Great Wall offers a formidable menu selection, it truely excells in its Mongolian BBQ. You essentially make your own meal by piling your plate full of meats and vegetables and sauces and their trained chefs will cook it for you on their gigantic wok (tips appreciated). Once you try Great Wall's amazing food, you will definitely be back for more.

Most of the people reading this review probably don't know what a tamale is, but once you try Pedro's Tamales, you'll definitely want to be coming back for more. Essentially a tamale factory, Pedro's serves up this mexican dish all throughout the year. Each tamale is made from only the finest ingredients and is then hand wrapped in corn husks. You should definitely pick up a few, sold by the bundle for your next party or dining experience!

When they mean "Mexican food embassy" in the title, they really know what they're talking about. Abuelo's food is definitely at least a few notches above the standard tex-mex cuisine, without being too much more expensive than the norm. The service is great, and there's even a beautiful outdoor patio where live bands play while you sip away at amazing margaritas. Abuelo's is definitely a good restaurant, and I give it my highest recommendation.

I have eaten Pad Thai at multiple occaisons and have never been served anything that wasn't truly amazing. The dishes are incredible with mild spiciness and much flavor. The curries are good, but I really recommend the Spicy Basil Fried Rice. Every dish is more than enough food and the service is generally decent.
