There are many rollercosters, and also rides for children,and rides for weak stomach people! Every age group has fun at Frontier City with its authentic western feel and look it portrays.
The food is definitely overpriced, so be aware of that and the heat when packing up for the day.

Ed's auto has always been my family auto repair as long as I've been in Oklahoma. Ed is an extremely friendly, very knowledgable man which you will have no trouble befriending. His work is usually very inexpensive and he'll usually beat the prices of the other auto shops in town or cut you a special deal. The only problem is sometimes he does not carry all parts right away and has to order for them, otherwise his shop is great!

The civic center puts on MANY shows, concerts, broadways. My favorite are the broadways which you can get for VERY inexpensive prices. If you're looking for evening entertainment then definitely stop by the civic center to see the newest shows!

The admissions fee is a little high for the event (~ 5-8$) but it is completely worth it Also, make SURE to stop by during winter for the light show they put on! The entire gardens are illuminated by festive lights making the gardens seem even more surreal.

The camping does have a very small fee associated with it as do boat rentals, but if you have your own boat then it is completely free!
The only negative thing about Thunderbird is some locations of the lake are a little dirty... dubbing thunderbird lake as "dirtybird"

Club Luxor, on the outside it is is just like any normal bar, but on the inside it iis really something quite different. Before you go there, the most important thing to know is that the club is the town's "gar club". This doesn't mean that heterosexuals do not frequent the club, but the majority of the people at the club are homosexual-oriented. That being said, the club is actually quite nice and the music and dancing is good. Just beware!

The Texas Tech Library is the most extensive in the West Texas area. It houses 6 floors full of books of all kinds: reference, fiction, non-fiction and others. Physically shaped like a stack of books, it is quite literally shelf after shelf of books. It also contains many computers connected to the internet and you don't have to be a student to use them. Before going, my only word of caution is to be wary of parking, because if you park in the parking lot without a permit, you will get ticketed.

Godeke Library is one of the gems of Lubbock. Its scenic location next to the lake makes it one of the best places in town to curl up with a book and enjoy life. It offers a wide selection of books (although not very extensive). Its children's section is quite unparalleled with its many books targeted towards younger readers. Its staff is also some of the best, with weekly group meetings and the like.

It also houses many computers with high speed access (which is really convenient because it is free to the public) and also a collection of dvds and vhs movies. The only drawback is its location in downtown Lubbock, which can be an inconvenience.

Thunderbird stables is definitely the place to go if you're interested in riding but can't keep your own horse/ field. Most of the horses are trained for novice riders (so if you really are into professional riding it may not be the best place). The horses all line up and go along but if you get a younger one you will have some room to guide them yourself! They ask about your experience when matching you up with a horse, so be sure to be honest!
Also! It's a great place for birthday parties if you're looking for creative ideas!
