It's Greek to Me easily has the best gyros in Minneapolis. They're stuffed to the brim with lamb or beef, veggies, and sauce. Try one of the desserts as well, since it's hard to find great traditional baklava and other Greek delicacies.
The atmosphere is also quite charming. When walking in, the deli-style counter makes you think this will just be another ho-hum joint. As you get further in, though, the painted walls and patio are very cute.

Fat's Lorenzo's was voted one of the Best of the Twin Cities in 2002. Based on the delivery I had from them last week, I'd have to disagree.
The delivery was very quick for a Friday evening - less than 40 minutes. The pizza that arrived was less than stellar. Everything was SLATHERED in grease! The pizza and cheesebread tasted alright, but the greasiness overwhelmed the flavor.
There are plenty of much better pizza places to go in the Twin Cities.

Cooks of Crocus Hill is just about the perfect culinary shop. They have (almost) everything you could need, from cast-iron pans to local spices to that obscure cookbook you've always wanted.
The staff at Cooks is always helpful, and offer suggestions based on products they've used, not just what they've been trained to say. On top of that, the shop offers many cool programs. There are classes taught by area chefs, seasonal crop shares, and their "Cooks Stuff" program - spend $250 in store, and get a $25 gift certificate in the mail.
The only downside to Cooks is that they don't always have what you're looking for. The shop is small, so it's easy to understand why they cannot have every culinary invention in the world, but I've had to go elsewhere for specific needs twice. Check out the website: www.cooksofcrocushill.com before you go.

The Yarnery is a great store because of its vast selection. There are floor to ceiling cubbies filled with unusual, hard to find, and sometimes downright expensive yarns. There are samples for virtually every yarn they carry. This is the place to go for your 100% silk or hand-dyed yarn.
The staff at the Yarnery is a bit underwhelming, though. They didn't ask me if I needed help until I was in the store for almost 10 minutes. In such a small store, it is hard to notice a person enter!

If you are into knitting or jewelry-making, Beyagi is definitely a hot spot. They carry many yarns that are harder to find in the Twin Cities, such as Debbie Bliss and Noro, as well as hundreds of charms and Swarovski crystals.
I would discourage parents from going here with small children, because there are many things to play with on low shelves. But the location in great, and their current flyer has a coupon for $5 off a $25 purchase.
