Well I've been meaning to checkout this donut shop located at 379 Grand St. since the summer. I passed by but didn't have time to stop in, but then the owner Mark Isreal was in a Throwdown challenge with Bobbie Flay and won.
Now I really wanted to see what the fuss was all about. I wanted to try the tres lechas donut, but they weren't ready yet. So I tried the plain glazed, jelly filled and cream filled. First of all, $2.00 to $3.00 a donut is pretty steep. It better be pretty good for these prices. Well to say the least, I don't know what all the fuss is all about! Compared to a chain store donut (Dunkin Donuts) you can tell this is definitely fried ( a little greasy) and dense (it must be from the oil). He claims to use natural flavorings in his glaze but it really isn't anything unique. The fillings weren't that much better than your chain store types. If you want something unique try to locate a sour cream donut from Dunkin Donuts. It was about 11/2 the size of a regular donut (that still doesn't justify the price) but it wasn't anything special unless you want some diva attitude from the owner Mark with your donut.
Also be very careful, they can't add or take orders correctly. I was overcharged and shorted a donut. They didn't use the register but added it up in their heads, also no receipts were given. My fault for not checking.

The prices for a basic cut/shampoo/blow dry is about twenty six dollars unless you have very long hair.
The hair stylist here have been with this shop for a while and are pretty good. The space is roomy and clean. If you've never had a hair cut in a establishment like this in Chinatown, you're in for a treat. First they shampoo, rinse and shampoo and rinse again, then you get the hair/neck massage for about 5-15 minutes. It varies from person to person. It's so relaxing.....then the final rinse and a application of conditioner. They take you to a station, comb your hair out and present you with a magazine while you're waiting for the stylist. If you can't describe what kind of a cut you want, please bring a picture. They are pretty accommodating.
They also provide perms and coloring services.

My children have been patients of Dr. R. Murphy their whole lives. In fact even up to the age of twenty one, when they had to move on to a regular physician (his policy). He's great, always very thorough and has a great bedside manner. You can always call the office with your concerns and he'll take your phone call. Even if he was on vacation, the other covering doctors in the office were also very good. He's even met me in the hospital emergency room.
He is not the type of physician that prescribes medication for every visit. As a matter of fact between my three kids, I can count the number of times he has prescribed antibiotics whenever they were sick. The most important thing is that my children loved and trusted him. My only hope is that he is still in practice when my children have their own.

This restaurant has been in business for many years. They are the original Vincent's from Little Italy!
I've been going there since I was a little girl. They are strictly a seafood restaurant. For most of the menu the food is average, so is the service. What I go there for is the fried calamari and fried shrimp. I've tried it everywhere else, but I always come back. Their's is the best!! If you don't mind spicy red sauce I recommend the medium sauce with your order. If you're not sure order the sauce on the side. You won't regret it. They have bottled their spicy marinara sauce, which is available for purchase at the restaurant. A little pricey about $9 a bottle, but it's well worth it. I recommend using it at home with some sautéed shrimp. Mangia!!

If you like fresh homemade style pasta, please try this store. They have different types of pasta like linguine, fettuccine, tagiollini, stuffed ravioli (regular and miniature sizes) with different cheeses and mushrooms. The fettuccine and linguine comes in tomato, garlic and spinach varieties.
They also carry a full line of dry pastas if you prefer that kind instead. Also available are their homemade red and white sauces. For your convenience they are open on Sundays but closed on Mondays. Enjoy!!

A nice neighborhood restaurant. It's a small place so you might have to wait for a table, but take out is a good option also. Brick oven pizza, my favorite toppings are sausage and peppers. Great sausage, not the nasty little balls (of mystery meat) you get from you know where but real sausage meat. The cheese is the fresh type not processed. Just the right amount of fresh sauce with a thin crispy crust. This is my favorite place to pick up pizza from. Give yourself a treat and try this place, you won't regret it.

At first I was hesitant to try this self serve establishment. I was pleasantly surprised. They have about 4 other locations in Massachusetts. First off they have parts of an old carousel that came from Brooklyn, NY all over the walls, that was interesting.
Having been a fan of Arby's in the past, Kelly's has ruined that for me. The roast beef here puts Arby's to shame. This is the way meat is suppose to be. Moist and tasty. Very generous portions. The fries were good, but the onion rings were terrible. I don't know if they were off that day since we only went there once. I didn't think you could ruin onion rings, after all almost everything that's fried tastes good.
I also tried the lobster roll, pricey but it was pretty good. You get mostly meat, not fillers like other places. The fried fish sandwich was also pretty good. I only wished that they had au jus for the roast beef. I hope that they plan to expand to neighboring states. If you're ever in the area please stop by and try the roast beef.

First time I've been to one of their restaurants. I must say I was pleasantly surprised, I assumed it was similar to a Red Lobster. No way, this restaurant is a step up. At first we were a little worried about our waiter but he turned out to be just fine. If you don't like seafood this is not the place for you. I tried the fried clams, oysters and crab cakes, they were all excellent. I was expecting the usual clam strips, these were (as stated on the menu) whole bellied clams. Everything was very fresh.
I had the fisherman's platter for my main entrée, i enjoyed it. Even the fish was good, usually I eat everything else, because the fish to me is just a filler thrown in. The rolls were hot and crusty (excellent). Fountain drinks are large with free refills. I was so full I didn't have room for dessert. The menu is a bit pricier, but I think worth it, I would definitely try this chain again.

If you are looking for a good consistent restaurant this is the place for you. They are a chain and are located in major malls. I've been to one in Baltimore, Orlando and Boston.
Service is usually good, moderate prices. The menu is quite extensive, it's a mix of Italian, Mexican, American, Asian and others mixed in. For appetizers I recommend the Buffalo blasts and Corn tamale cakes, my personal favorite. For the main entree I've recently had a new add on "Crispy chicken costoletta", it was very good. Their portions are large, so I recommend going easy on the appetizers. Free refills on fountain drinks, don't get the ginger ale, it comes in bottles only (no refills)
For the piece de resistance, the main reasons I go are the desserts. Cheesecake made anyway you can imagine. It's really good, better than Juniors of Brooklyn, please leave some room for dessert, or take some home to enjoy later.

This is a great family style restaurant. Recently expanded and renovated. The prices are reasonable, huge portions, everyone leaves the place with a doggie bag. The wait staff is pretty efficient and friendly. If you have a special occasion and want a private party they can accommodate you. There is valet parking. The only drawback, is that since this is a popular place, you have to wait sometimes for a table, and they only take reservations for large parties. This place is cash only, no credit cards.
