I went to Michael Moore (the owner of the boutique) for a one-on-one makeup lesson yesterday. One word, UNBELIEVEABLE! I was there for two hours, going over everything from skincare to tips and tools and everything else under the sun regarding make-up application. I look like a new person. I was doing everything wrong, but he didn't make me feel like an idiot. They have you bring in all of your make-up, skin care, and tools and then Michael goes through them with you and tosses what you don't need and tries to incorporate what you do have to work with your skin. He was the nicest, most genuine person I have ever met. Not to mention that he assisted Bobby Brown (make-up artist) in New York, has done make up for Julia Roberts, runway models, and the list goes on and on. My skin looks flawless. He does one half of your face and you do the other. Don't be worried about this, though, he walks you through it. It is on the expensive side, but SO WORTH IT!!! I would do it again today. Highly recommended! Tell them that Laura Towne sent you, and e-mail me if you go and tell me about your experience! I LOVED IT!

I guess you have to spend $100,000 to be treated well at Hyde Park. I cannot believe the way we have been treated by these people. We purchases an engagement mounting (that wasn't exactly cheap)...
I guess you have to spend $100,000 to be treated well at Hyde Park. I cannot believe the way we have been treated by these people. We purchases an engagement mounting (that wasn't exactly cheap) and had a diamond that we purchased elsewhere mounted into the mounting. The ring came back with the diamond crooked and they actually charged us for the appraisal. The appraiser left out 34 diamonds in the appraisal and acted like it was an inconvenience to re-do the appraisal. The women at the service counter were unhelpful and frankly, just plain rude. Go somewhere else to buy your jewelry. They don't care about their customers.

They have more than just good meat at Tony's. It is an upscale grocery with gourmet cheeses and food items. They have fresh flowers, a wonderful bakery and an endless amount of prepared foods. I like to go there when I am short on time and pick up prepared foods for dinner. They have a wonderful selection of meats, and already marinated items as well that are ready to toss on the grill. The employees are always knowledgeable and ready to answer your questions or make suggestions for dining or entertaining!

5280 Roadhouse Brewery is kind of hidden in Littleton. It is a large restaurant with plenty of seating and a very large menu. It is not traditional brewery fare, but more upscale. The prices are a bit on the high side, but the portions are large and the food is very good. They have a wonderful Caesar salad and very good beer selections. The wait staff is very helpful and prompt.

I love Mi Zuppa. It is especially great on a cold winter day. They have 7 or 8 soups that change on a daily basis and they are all homemade. It is affordable and you can get fresh baked bread and a side salad or sandwich along with your soup. Call the soup line to see what the daily soups are. The guys that work there are so nice and you can try any soup before buying to make sure you like it. Eat in...the atmosphere is great!

Iris Fields has some great items. I like to shop there for dresses and skirts for special occasions. It is expensive, but worth it when I find a great outfit. They have shoes and jewelry as well....

Some of the clothing is geared towards older women but stylish nonetheless. They are very helpful if you have questions or want an opinion!

I like this place, don't get me wrong, the food is good. The burgers are big and juicy and those little sweet & sour pickles that they give you at the beginning are good. I don't like the fact that everything is ala carte. You have to order fries or onion rings separately and everyone needs those with a burger!! It can get pretty expensive. I guess for a once in a while thing it is okay, but to drop $40 on a burger meal seems a bit excessive to me!

I will never pay too much for dry cleaning again. I used to have $150 dry cleaning bills and it was breaking the bank! That was until I found Continental Cleaners in Golden, right off of Colfax...

That was until I found Continental Cleaners in Golden, right off of Colfax near Planet Honda. $1.50 a piece! No restrictions...even on dresses or lined pants. They do an excellent job-can't tell the difference between them and the more expensive cleaners. You must pay upfront with either cash or a check. It is always next day service, too!!

Zaidy's is a great place for big scrumptious sandwiches. Classic New York deli type sandwiches. The Reuben is monstrous and very good. It isn't the fastest restaurant, so if you are going in for a quick takeout sandwich, leave some extra time. Lots of room to eat in- it does get very crowded on weekdays during the lunch hour. Highly recommended!
