This is a great spot to get a good view of the city. For a few dollars take the creaky old elevator (while trying not to think of past earthquakes) to the top of the tower for a 360 degree view of the city. The park setting outside the tower is a great place for a picnic lunch. The best way to get up to the tower is via bus. Parking is sparse and the road narrow so navigating up in a rental car may be less than ideal.

A great way to experience North Beach. The food is delicious and inexpensive. The restaurant sits in the heart of North Beach with the bustling jazz clubs and Italian style cafes serving cappuccinos all around. The best thing about this place is the atmosphere. The décor is so interesting you will find your eyes wandering to explore your surroundings.

The restaurant and the small bakery next door are both owned by the chef Tom Douglas. Everything from the soup to the bread to the cheesecakes is delicious. Enjoy a sandwich and soup for a quick lunch at the bakery or sit down for a long leisurely meal in the restaurant. Everything on the menu is delicious. The atmosphere is almost as great as the food, with a comfortable and interesting décor. Only downside, the bakery’s only seating are two small tables outside. It’s probably best to get lunch to go.

Whew, what a great spot for dinner. If you are visiting Kauai, eating here is a must. Book at least a few weeks in advance to nab a table at sunset. This is the best sunset view. And the food is delicious. Pricey but worth every penny. I highly recommend the macadamia nut mahi-mahi. This is a dinner you will not forget.

This is one of my favorite Seattle restaurants. It is owned and run by a man from Sicily. Eating here is truly an Italian experience. You must allow enough time to enjoy the meal. Everything is made fresh and it is tremendous! The restaurant is hidden in Belltown close to EE Robbins. During the summer you can eat outside in the courtyard that is shared with the neighboring apartment building. It is the cutest little spot. Order a great bottle of Italian wine and enjoy your meal!

Its hard to give a detailed review without breaking the review guidelines, however I can say that this is THE place to get a cake for a bachtelor party or a birthday party with the right audience. You wouldnt believe what they can put on the cake. The price is reasonable for the speciality cakes. I dont think the flavors are anything outstanding. But, hey, you arent buying it for the taste so much as the appearance!

This specialty soccer store is locally owned. Its located across the street from the Alderwood Mall in Mervyns parking lot. Easy to find but not always open (seems that they are only open during the day and not on Sundays). Its a fun place to go to check out soccer equipment or shoes. Its also nice if you are looking for something the big sports chains dont carry. However overall the prices are expensive. I usually find myself leaving empty handed to check one of the big chains or online store for a lower price.

The SAM is located in the heart of downtown Seattle and is Seattle's biggest art museum. Though it cannot compare to the major metropolitan art museums that you find on the east coast the SAM does a good job keeping a rotation of good exhibits running through the museum while showing the pride they have in the museum itself. Last year there was a Van Gogh exhibit that drew a large crowd (line around the block most days). The museum pulled out all the stops including performance art to teach the museum goers more about Van Gogh. This level of pride for the museum is shown every time you visit the SAM.

This is the best place in Seattle to see a concert or a play. When you step through the building you will feel as though you have stepped back into time for a night at the theatre. The lobby and theater itself are gorgeous. Well worth the splurge of concert tickets itself. The only downside is parking which can be difficult downtown. There are several nearby lots including those at Pacific Place. However be prepared to walk a few blocks to save a couple dollars on parking.

This is a locally owned ski store. They have a large selection and competitive prices. The service here is very good and is what makes them stand out from the large sporting store chains that dot the area. As a beginner skier I was confused about what skis would suit me best, and the sales people were very willing to help me narrow down my choices without the typical hard sell routine. To me the service is what makes the difference. They also have gear available for rental. This is a great option if you want to rent but dont want to waste time by renting on the mountain.
