Sort-of a piano/jazz bar atmosphere but serving cool coffee drinks. A great "night life" alternative if you want to skip the bar scene or just need a night off from alcohol, although I think they might have some alcoholic coffee drinks.
Remember to pay the parking meters, though if you come in the evening when they're still enforced!

Artist's work for sale hung on walls - this rotates, but I'm not sure of the schedule. You enter coffee shop through art gallery next door.
Never very crowded so good place to get work done.

There is live entertainment some nights; otherwise it is lively but quiet and well-lit enough to work or study. Very quiet during the day. There is a large outdoor seating area in back and a few small tables outside in front.

Rotating artist's work is displayed on the walls. Great coffee plus snacks and desserts - enough substantial food options to go for lunch.
A good place place to read or study but even better place to meet up with your friends.

A pretty small place, so it could get crowded but there was plenty of seating available when I was there. They have both bar seating and individual tables.

Good vietnamese food, cooked by people who know how to make it right, at this quiet restaurant right on the corner. The service has always been good and the food is pretty reasonably priced - soups, appetizers, dinner, and - to add a fun relaxing twist - drinks with umbrellas in them.
Street parking may take a few extra minutes to find.

They have an extremely wide variety of food of both breakfast and lunch or dinner options, including such types as goat cheese, etc, at very reasonable prices. They also have a wide variety of both coffee and non-coffee drinks.
There's a pretty eclectic group of people there - artsy types, students, and just the mix of locals that you would expect to find in Buck Town. There is a lot of seating, but be prepared it is pretty smoky.
