Horton Plaza is a nice place to take people who haven't been to san diego and want to do a little shopping.
While a mall seems like an odd tourist attraction, this is no ordinary mall and is one of the most identifiable landmarks of people who have visited me.
Located in the heart of San diego, it also is a great place to keep your car parked and explore nearby restaurants. almost everything is within walking distance of Horton. Parking is free for the first three hours as long as you get your ticket validated. Before 10pm, you can stamp it yourself at Sam goodys. After ten, you can buy a stick of gum at the loog's drugstore.
The mall is uniqely designed with bright colors, lots of stores, and lots of stories tall. The place is like a maze. You might see the store you want to go to in the distance, but you really have no idea how to get there!
A lot of the stores are uncommon, ones you don't see in other malls.
Great place to visit and shop to your heart's content.

Despite the fact that several people had proclaimed that this place has "the best ribs ever," I was definitely skeptical. I was also slightly concerned about the price. It's about $20 for a full order of ribs and sides.
Well, I don't know about if this place has the best ribs ever, but it is definitely close.
This place has the most tender ribs I have ever tasted and they are richly flavored.
While the outside isn't so impressive, the inside is uniquely decorated. There is definitely a cowboy feel to it. There is also a place for you to wash your hands after you eat.
This place is very popular, so you might want to consider ordering out if you have a large party, though they do have large tables.
While Phil's has a variety of bbq items, the highlight is definitely the ribs.

The quantities are decent, and the service is great. Your water glass is never empty.
Order for yourself or share a couple of dishes among friends.
For the best deal, come during lunch where they have a variety of lunch specials.
The atmosphere is quiet and quaint.

The best nights to go are Wednesday and Friday. Every Wednesday night is lobster night. You get a whole lobster, rice and vegetables for $10.99. The only thing is you have to order a drink, or appetizer, salad, etc. Just something, it doesn't matter what. So you can choose the cheapest thing.
Friday night is prime rib night and it's the same deal.
These nights are a great bargain. the food is good, the service is nice and fast. And the atmosphere is very enjoyable.
The restaurant is pretty big, though reservations are still recommended.

This place is pretty casual, sit down place, but has a fast food feel to it because the food comes fast and you pay first.
They had different specials everyday which are posted at the front of the restaurant.
The specials are almost always a good deal and I usually just order the special.
They also show you what the specials look like, they are on display at the front, so you have a better idea of what you are ordering.
Don't expect extremely high quality food, but you shouldn't be worried about getting sick from it. The food is definitely decent.

There are gem stores, candle making stores, etc.
Everything contains that old town feel.
There is also some fabulously authentic mexican food restaurants.
The best time to go is during the day. This is not really a nighttime town and most stores are already closed.
This is a good place to take friends and family that are visiting San Diego.

However, the museum is interesting and it does have a very unique seahorse exhibit.
The seahorse exhibit is more exhaustive than at any big aquarium. They have a huge variety of seahorses and they are also constantly breeding seahorses, so you can actually see the babies at different stages of their life, from as young as a couple of weeks.
The rest of the acquarium is pretty standard, with nothing that particularly stands out.
However, if you are interested in seahorses, then this is a great place to visit.

The place is desserts only and is extremely popular and a great place to visit and hang out with friends.
There are tons of different cakes and desserts offered and all of them look absolutely delectable.
The major downside is that this place is small. It's hard to find a table to fit all your friends. And because it is so popular, it is also very crowded and the wait can be long.
However, I definitely recommend trying the place out just to have the experience. The chocolate cakes are extremely rich and delicious.
