I used to love this place when it was the Schoolyard Tavern, and so far, it has not disappointed me in the new re-vamped version that has become Gaslight. The neighborhood is so cute, but the parking is absolutely atrocious - definitely take a cab. Great food, great service, and always a great crowd. Will definitely return.

If you live anywhere near this place, or even if you do not, it is definitely worth the trip. The beer list might be the most extensive I have ever come across in Chicago, and the food is just as good. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, while the jukebox is always rockin' with a great mix of music. Will definitely return.

The decor itself is beautiful - exposed brick walls, comfy chairs and couches, dark wood, etc. The drink menu consists of the usual Irish beers and whiskeys, but they also have a large martini list as well. The food is way, way better than your average bar grub. Parking is horrid; you are better off taking a cab or public transportation.

...to be taken seriously. While interesting in concept - a dessert only bar - the follow through leaves much to be desired. The wait staff is beyond slow, and unfortunately, also very rude. The dessert, while good, is way too overpriced. If you are going to splurge, there are other places in the city to do so and make it worth your buck. Drinks are average in taste, and also overpriced. Skip it.

The menu also includes hot sandwiches, several different choices of wings, seafood, side orders, calzones, salads, and desserts. We would definitely order from them again.

...Bar Celona, this bar is also hit or miss. On a weekday evening, you can expect a laid back, yet smaller crowd, which is ultimately better in that the service is faster. On the weekend, forget it. Overcrowded and slow, many people just gave up and took off. The modern and stylish decor, along with the 20 or so flat screens give the place an older, more professional vibe; however, it did seem overrun with the younger DePaul crowd.

This bar is owned by the same people who brought us Grand Central and SoPo, so you can expect a lot. On a good day, it's great. The food is good, service excellent, and the drinks strong. On a bad, look forward to a wait, the tacos terrible, and the drinks overpriced. I would definitely visit again if just for the sangria and funky decor.

Fabulous food, excellent wine, great prices, good service, attention to detail, and authentic atmosphere. The free valet parking also helps. A must see for all your out of town guests.

...love Chinese? Then definitely check out Yang. Parking near the corner of Roosevelt and Wabash is fairly limited, so you're better off taking the red line. Yang's also delivers for a nominal fee, which is perfect for those tiring days at work. The food is amazing, the prices decent, and the portions huge. Will return again and again.
