Claim Jumper at Redmond Town Center is a nice place for happy hour. They have a lot of bar seating so you can always find a place, even with a lot of people. They also have food AND drink specials. Quite a few appetizers are $2. I recommend the Caesar salad and individual pizza. Both are worth the money. As for the drinks, I believe draft beers are a couple dollars and possible well drinks too. I always went for the wine, which isn't on special, but they have a pretty good selection of local wines.

Snohomish literally used to be someone's farm. The Club house is the house (the snack bar is basically the kitchen) and they keep the carts in the old barn. It sounds weird, but once get there, it just seems right. It sits in the middle of quiet acreage and it really a nice setting. You'll find people there for the golf. You don't play Snohomish to show off your new shiny clubs.
The course is pretty straight and really long. The length is a challenge for me, but it is a fun place to really open up and see how far you can nail it. The par 3s are tough, because they are closer to 150 yds than 100, but I enjoy the challenge. Because of the course's length (and possibly my wild shots) I'm usually pretty beat by the time I'm done with 18 holes. This course is one of my favorite courses to play with my Dad (he's good and gives me lots of tips).

Honey Bear has delicious homemade baked good and meals. Everything is fresh and you can always find a whole wheat muffin or vegan something. Now, I'm not one to try a vegan muffin, but I appreciate the option. For some reason my butter croissant seems healthier when it shares a case health-conscious options. I love to walk up on the weekend and have a cappuccino and treat. Now beware, the barrista is always backed up so the coffee takes forever, but it is good and worth the wait. Just don't drop by if you are in a hurry.
The real find is their cakes. They make delicious wonderful cakes made however you like. They can be a bit pricey, but are 10 times better than a sheet cake from the grocery store. I ordered a strawberry cake (round white cake layered with cream cheese frosting and fresh strawberries) for a baby shower. I think it was $35 or $45, but easily served 16 and was so good. It looked and tasted homemade. I really should have said I made it. If you want to order a cake, keep it mind just should do it a week or more in advance. They are so good, you really should try it for your next special occasion.

I had Finn Hill Bikes tune up my bike. They did a great job and it was reasonably priced. I also did it during the busy season and there wasn't a waiting period. That was a big relief. The guys were cool and really just like bikes--no overzealous sales people.
The list their prices on their Web site:

Their shop is next to the QFC on Juanita drive.

We used All Star Transfer to move our grandmother's antique piano. We called around and their prices seemed to be the most reasonable and they were able to move the piano on the day we needed. They did a great job. They were on time, professional and capable of moving it safely. They also recommended someone that could help restore the antique piano. We will use them again.

I used to live across the street from A New York Pizza Place and I loved it. The owners and employees are so friendly. They serve pizza by the slice, salads and even sandwiches if I recall. This may it easy to eat there at least once a week.
Their pizza is the best part. They use great Italian sausage. It isn't spicy, but it isn't the usual cheap stuff you get at other places. The dough isn't oily, it is thin, crisp and has good flavor. You can even order a pizza with whole wheat dough. I personally never tried it, but I thought it was a nice option.
They also have free red rope at the counter.

Puka Dogs are the best. We finally tried this Hawaiian hot dog our last day in Kauai and I've been craving one ever since!
Besides having a fun-to-say name, Puka Dog is a hot dog (I had the veggie version) in a warm (possibly freshly baked) bun with a garlic butter sauce and fruit relish. It was savory, sweet and oh so good.
Don't be scared by the fruit relish. I was tempted to get the a traditional ketchup and mustard toppings, but I must have caught some island spirit, because I went for the mango relish at the last minute. If you are going to Kauai, you have to try one. You've got nothing to lose.

My office recently moved to downtown Bellevue and I've had a hard time paying city prices for lunch. I'm happy to report that Cafe Aura in my building (Symetra Financial Center on the corner of 108th and NE 8th) seems to be the place. They serve my kind of lunches-- sandwiches, salads and a grill made to order. They even have cookies baked daily which means they are still warm at lunch time . . .mmmm, I love a fresh cookie. Compared to other choices in the area, Cafe Aura's prices are fine. About $5 for a cold sandwich or salad and closer to $3 for a half sandwich. You can't beat that. I haven't ordered too many things from the grill, just a grilled tuna sandwich($5.50) and fries ($1.50 for a small). The sandwich was pretty much how I would make it at home, so I was happy. I'm pretty certain the fries were from the freezer--thicker than McD's, but not steak fries. If you work in downtown Bellevue and are looking for a daily lunch spot, I recommend Cafe Aura.

This is a great grocery store for throwing a barbecue or entertaining with specialty food. It does seem to be a bit more expensive than a larger chain for everyday (non-organic) shopping, but I've slowly converted to a full time customer since the organic prices are so reasonable and their selection of specialty items is so good.
Village Market Thriftway isn't quite as natural as a PCC or as big as Whole Foods, but it really is perfect for a great local grocery store in the N. Seattle/Shoreline area.
It has a huge wine and cheese section with specialists. They helped me with a few matches for my last holiday party.
Their produce department is great. It is big, but they seem to mostly have what is in season so you know what you are buying will be good. The guy at the seafood counter is super helpful and always has a recipe to share for the seasonal items.
I also have a tendency utilize their housewares department. They have a tiny boutique of dishes, cooking utensils, cutting boards, gourmet soaps and all kinds of fun stuff.
If you live in the area you really should check it out.
