They also sell little packets of spice mixtures so you can try out your own recipies at home.

When I moved here 7 years ago, I was personally aghast at the paucity of cheap used books. Though Green Apple has its share of inexpensive books and Aardvark and Dog Eared Books are fine establishments, it still stings a bit paying $7-9 for a used trade paperback. At Community thrift you won't pay more than $3. They also have a great selection of housewares, furniture and clothes, but I'll leave that to the rest. Go for the books!
