I was told to go here by a family member who goes here every two weeks to get her nails done. She likes it because you can make appointments with them and they call you ahead of time. That is a nice reminder. Since I just moved to the area, I thought I would give it a try. The people were very nice. They had the cutest dog. I was getting an American manicure done so I am not sure about their polish selection. I had a young man doing my nails and he was pleasant. I didn't know their prices so I asked him and when he told me I realized that I would be paying $9 more than I would for a refill than at my last salon! My last salon cost $11 for refills and this salon cost $20 for refills. That is the cost of getting on tips at my last salon. My last salon also had a big screen tv and leather executive type chairs at every nail station. This salon did not have a tv that was visible to me and the chairs were not comfortable. I was wondering what I was paying $9 extra for? I've never been to a nail salon (and I go to many different ones) where I've paid over $13 for refills. $20 is way overpriced.
I will not be returning since there is no incentive to paying that much.

Havertown Nail Salon is my favorite nail salon in town. They have soft leather chairs to sit on whlie you get your nails done and soft leather couches to sit on if you have to wait. They don't take appointments unfortunately, so it is often busy I go in there. My manicurist was nice but did not talk to me a lot. That was fine. They have a big screen tv to watch and another small tv on the opposite side of the room. I found this to be entertaining because getting on acrylic nails takes awhile. Their prices are comparable to the other salons in Havertown. I will definitely return.

I recently had dinner at the William Penn Inn and it was absolutely amazing. The ambiance is elegant and romantic. I would recommend this restaurant for couples only. Couples with their friends (who are couples too) would also be appropriate. Our waiter was attentive but unobtrusive. The hostess was very friendly. I imagined this place to be stuffy since it is on the expensive side, but I found it to be the complete opposite. The staff was very friendly but again, unobtrusive. We will definitely return, but only on special occasions.

Headlines is in a convenient location on Brookline Blvd. Parking is ample as there is a close lot. You can also parallel park on the street if you wish. Headlines is a contemporary looking salon and it looked very clean. I like the framed pictures and the cute purse vases.
They were pretty busy on a Friday. When I walked in, I think they could have been friendlier at the front desk since this was my first impression of the employees. My hair stylist, shampoo woman, and the owner were all very friendly. This place seems to have their regulars which is a good indication that people like coming back. I really liked my hair cut and a week later, it still looks good.
I thought the cost was pretty reasonable. I would definitely return to the same stylist.

I went to Antoinette Day Spa & Salon to get my nails done for my cousin's wedding. My cousin gave my mother and I each a $15 gift certificate to use towards our manicures. I decided to get a manicure and pedicure and so did my mom. The most enjoyable part of the experience was relaxing before our manicures. We got to sit in a pretty room and drink tea until they were ready for us. I recommend going early to enjoy it.
We got our nails done in the same room. The woman who helped me was not rude, but not very friendly. I could tell she did a rushed job. She barely talked to me although I must admit I am sort of shy so I was not initiating too much conversation. My mom decided to get a french manicure and to my surprise they gave her a light pink and white one. Apparently her manicurist had asked her which one she preferred. My manicurist did not and I wasn't that happy with the quality of my "normal" french manicure. The pedicure also seemed rushed and my feet did not look that much better after the pedicure.
I could not believe how much a manicure and pedicure cost at this spa! Ever since then I keep going back to my local nail salon and although it is not fancy, they do a great job and the nails and color last for a long time.
About 5 days after my manicure, I noticed that my nail color started to turn yellow! My nails looked awful and they were starting to come off. I called the salon and they offered me a free nail color change. I told them that I was not pleased with my first manicure and I did not want another. They offered me a gift certificate for the cost of a nail change and I later used it towards a hair cut and style (much better experience). I believe they should have reimbursed me for the entire manicure since the nails were falling off, but I thought that the gift certificate was a decent gesture.

My fiance and I went to the Bed, Bath, and Beyond to register. We did not make an appointment but just showed up. They have a registry specialist at the store who seemed very knowledgeable about the process. Their policy is wonderful, we can return things (even without a receipt!) bought from the registry for cash! They were wonderful with us and offered to get us soda while we were walking around. They made sure throughout the night that we were comfortable and that we knew what we were doing. When we went to register for our pots and pans we looked confused and immediately a salesperson came over and told us many details about the products. The salespeople were very friendly with one another and seem to genuinely like working at the store.
The reason that I am not giving them a perfect is because they gave us cards that we could give out to friends and family to less them know where we are registered. The woman at the registry said to put them in the shower and wedding invitations. It is against etiquette and very tacky to put registry announcements in wedding invitations and I believe that was poor advice (although she is trying to run a business so I understand why she would mention it). I also wish they had more of their wedding products in the store such as the frames and some china.

Valentino's is a wonderful Italian restaurant. The dress code is casual to business casual which is nice for a variety of occasions. The best part about Valentino's, besides the taste, is the value. You can easily find coupons and they give very big portions. I loved the tortellini bona rosa (bona rosa is a pink sauce). I also enjoyed the garlic bread which is presented while you wait for your food. It is unique and almost reminds me of a softer, larger bruschetta. Valentino's is a BYOB which is convenient for its patrons. And even though I could barely find room for dessert, it was hard to pass up the. It was very creamy and very good! The servers at Valentino's were very polite and attentive, but also unobtrusive. I will definitely go to Valentino's again!
