One of my favorite places to eat in the downtown Annapolis area is Galway Bay, which is both an authentic pub and a great restaurant! The pub area, though small and sometimes quite crowded, is charmingly decorated with dark woods and Irish antiques and musical instruments. The dining room is separate and non-smoking.
Some highlights of the menu include the Irish Boxty, the Shepherd's Pie and Corned Beef and Cabbage. I especially love their homemade Irish Soda Bread.
Brunch at Galway Bay is also a treat. The specialty brunch beverages (some involving Guinness and cider) are great for a change of pace.
